March 31, 2011 (Hillside, NJ) – WizKids/NECA, the leader in collectible miniature gaming today announced DC VS MARVEL for the HeroClix set, through a license agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of DC Comics and Disney Corporation on behalf of Marvel Comics. DC VS MARVEL HeroClix brings the characters from the DC Comics and Marvel Comics universe and places them on gamers’ tabletops in December of 2011.

“WizKids is very excited to add this DC/MARVEL cross-over product to the HeroClix lineup,” said WizKids/NECA president Lax Chandra. “Both universes are rich with superheroes and villains, and this combined HeroClix core set will see new combinations never before seen in comics or the gaming table top!"

"By far this is the largest HeroClix set we've ever produced," continues Lax Chandra. "We currently have 50 confirmed individual DC characters for this set and 50 for Marvel. And for the first time in Wizkids history, we're planning 10 AMALGAM figures!

Brick Configuration:
"To better capitalize on this historic event, HeroClix figures will be presented into two different booster configurations: a DC booster and a Marvel booster; HeroClix bricks are packaged with 5 DC boosters and 5 Marvel boosters). Each DC booster contains 5 figures from the DC universe and each Marvel booster contains 5 boosters from the Marvel Universe. The 10 AMALGAM figures may be found in either of the boosters, at the quantity of one AMALGAM figure per brick, which guarantees at least one AMALGAM figure for serious collectors!

Alternate Character Cards:
"Fall of 2011 will be an exciting time for Wizkids, where we not only focus on our core brands, but we also utilize all our licenses for perfect product synergy. As such, DC VS MARVEL HeroClix will utilize a brand new game mechanic called Alternate Character Cards! This new mechanic gives you new ways to customize your HeroClix character, allowing you to use the same character at different power levels! The 317-point DC Crisis E2 SUPERMAN was good, but the 397-point DC VS MARVEL SON OF JOR-EL is better. Much better. And if you need even more power, you can use his new Alternate Character Card to boost him up to a 449 point KOing machine!"
