Watchmen Fast Forces Spoilers

February 12, 2010. This just in!

WizKids/NECA, the leader in collectible miniature gaming today announced the Watchmen HeroClix Collector’s Boxed Set and Dr. Manhattan Colossal Figure for the HeroClix game, through a license agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of DC Comics. Watchmen HeroClix brings the characters of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Watchmen film to gamers’ tabletops summer 2010.

The Watchmen Collector’s Boxed Set includes 25 highly detailed, 3D miniatures including Dr. Manhattan, Rorschach, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre. The Collector’s Boxed Set, which includes a complete set of Watchmen HeroClix figures, comes in deluxe, display-quality packaging. The Watchmen HeroClix Dr. Manhattan Colossal Figure (sold separately) is built to movie-accurate scale and stands over 14 inches tall. Watchmen HeroClix premieres this summer at San Diego Comic-Con, and will be available at comic and game shops nationwide and on Amazon.com.

“WizKids is very excited to add Watchmen to the HeroClix platform,” said WizKids/NECA president Lax Chandra. “Watchmen is a groundbreaking movie which redefines the way costumed vigilantes are portrayed on the big screen. With 25 unique sculpts in the Collector’s Boxed Set, plus the colossal Dr. Manhattan figure, we’ve got a comprehensive offering that will satisfy both avid gamers and Watchmen movie fans.”

“This continues our long and valued relationship with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Comics, and we look forward to another successful collaboration,” states Joel Weinshanker, president of NECA.

In what I can only call a complete coincidence, I mentioned a Watchmen HeroClix Set in my article: 22 Boxed Set We Want!

i got the set pretty nice

@as_bat: they have a figure for those things you mentioned because it is awsome to have more than one comedian on your team and stuff.

Posted by: qwerty_uiop on 11/28/2010 6:01:29 PM
I DO NOT like this set.
Lets be clear, Watchmen never was an action comic book and neither is the film.
It has not been thought that way and it was not written that way.

So we have figs for Bubastis?!?!?!? really...
what were they thinking?
its a purring cat! just that! nothing else!
if we have a fig for Ozzymandias, why a duo fig Ozzy with his purring cat?? whats the point of such a fig?
and the original minute men?
whats the point of them? we know NOTHING of them!
and they even don´t put the whole team in this box!
why put generic thugs instead of a full minutemen pack?

this is not a collectors set, because collectors set try to give you a "set", a generic thug is not part of the "set" if you catch my meaning ;)

Posted by: as_bat on 8/27/2010 4:14:20 PM
this is poop. $100!

Posted by: nick on 7/3/2010 3:35:26 PM
I am really hopeful that Wizkids will produce a 6-7 figure collector set for this, as it is, and I may just not be that big of a watchman fan, I am seeing a lot of filler. But then again I am not a big fan of duos, AE's, or generics in set box sets.

your welcome The Le, just making sure the info out there is the correct info ya know

Posted by: Refrusdraob on 6/11/2010 10:03:44 AM
The Walter Kovacs card has been corrected -- it now displays the new correct image that WK updated. Special thanks to Refrusdraob for setting me straight.

Posted by: The Le on 6/11/2010 9:30:44 AM
@ ecchs - I pre-paid $99 for the set. Hope this helps :-)

Posted by: Ianator on 6/11/2010 1:04:54 AM
the cards are updated on their site now Drew said he posted the wrong (old photo) links on the pics check it now

Posted by: refrusdraob on 6/10/2010 11:56:33 PM
Well here comes errata number one since alter ego Rorshack should be 38 points not 48 points.

Posted by: David TG Riches on 6/10/2010 3:04:40 PM
what's the price tag for the set?

Posted by: ecchs on 6/10/2010 5:10:28 AM
WOW.

Those look great. LOVE the Kovacs / Rorscorch combo. They both look sweet! Nice watchmen and underworld teams.

I just wish I could read the full mini list on the box!!!

Very nice.

Posted by: tylerdrake on 6/9/2010 11:39:56 PM
That is Moloch in his prime.
He has a bad end in the movie (after getting cancer) as the victim set up to put Rorschach in jail.

Now we have a stand-in for Max Headroom (same actor)

Posted by: tylerdrake on 6/4/2010 2:49:02 PM
That looks like Moloch.

Posted by: dittobeetle on 6/4/2010 1:33:19 PM
DR: ...it so....Blue!!!!!

Posted by: omoud on 5/31/2010 5:41:50 AM
How tall is Dr. Manhattan going to be? Galatcus size? I noticed Manhattan's base has 4 dials from the picture shown.

Posted by: Lordcassidyg on 5/31/2010 4:03:59 AM
I'd literally scream for joy if they make a Nixon. I doubt they will though.

Posted by: Bobby on 5/30/2010 6:41:26 PM
It's apparent that the good Dr. does not require pants... as he mentioned... and I quote "I have transcended the need for clothes". LOLOLOL! Super funny clip! Thanks for the laugh TheLe :-D

Posted by: Ianator on 5/28/2010 11:24:50 PM
Very interested in knowing how muchManhatten will be.

Posted by: Lord Logan on 5/28/2010 3:35:23 PM
The sculpts look great. They are h!*h off thier rocker if they think I'm going to shell out over 200 bucks for the set & Dr. Manhattan figure. I'll but a brick of WEB OF SPIDERMAN instead.

Posted by: DarkKnight on 5/28/2010 9:57:10 AM
Well it's good to see that they are making it affordable in these troubled economic times. Not like them to put all of their chses in one basket like this.

Posted by: Danzig01 on 5/28/2010 7:27:44 AM
the price tag has been a confirmed 100 dollars

Posted by: JGarrick on 4/5/2010 12:56:03 PM
Hopefully there will be a Silhouette figure! I like that girl!!

Posted by: JasonCR on 4/1/2010 3:35:41 PM
my guess is another 80 dollars on the colossal, but news has it that there will be a CON exclusive and a Variant Dr M Colossal, my guess is A transluscent Blue for the Variant seeing that they liked working with the Blackest Night Constructs

Posted by: refrusdraob on 3/25/2010 12:56:10 PM
When will this set be released for retail? One would also wonder how much for Dr. M, Colossal? Maybe another hundred?

Posted by: Ianator on 3/23/2010 9:05:29 PM
"Anybody whether a guess at the price tag? My guess is $49.99."
Posted by: Danzig01 on 3/22/2010 8:21:21 AM

ACTUALLY.... Alliance list it at $99 so ya, start counting your pennies

Will Dr. Manhattan have removable pants? :))

Posted by: kana78 on 2/25/2010 4:19:04 AM
Well, they clarified the original post, and the colossal Dr. Manhattan will be separate from the 25-piece box set.

I think we'll get the 1940's Minutemen, the 1980's heroes, a Vietnam-era Comedian, Moloch, Big Figure, some top-knots, Archimedes, and I'm guessing we'll get a Nite Owl/Rorschach duo figure, and that we'll have two Dr. Manhattans in the box set - a normal-sized Manhattan, possibly in his suit or as his early self, and either a Giant or Duo, from when he is working in his lab. Other figs could include the two investigating detectives, possibly a villian or two that was mentioned in the movie.

Posted by: Beardedtoyman on 2/13/2010 11:01:59 AM
big figure

Posted by: Neilr on 2/13/2010 8:07:38 AM
I can see this being expensive since it will include a colossal of Dr Manhattan as opposed to a simple set. For the ideal of 25 figures we would have The Watchmen in at least two poses like an REV such as City Rorshack and Prison Rorshack and Arctic Rorshack and even a couple of duos like Nite Owl & Rorshack or Nite Owl & Silk Spectre and of course the Dr Manhattan & himself. Then you have the Minutemen which would include the original Comedian, Silk Spectre, and Night Owl as well as people like Dollar Bill, Hooded Justice, or Captain Metropolis. Count in Silhouette or Mothman then toss in people like Ozymandias, Moloch The Mystic, and the henchmen you start to get a pretty decent sized set.
What I really want to know is will it include Archie as well as Maps of Veidt's arctic base, the Gunga dinner, the prison, and Dreiberg's Home.
I could just see in a years time vehicle night where we play Thor's chariot against Batmobile, and Archie! ;)
