Combat Values
As far as his combat values go, Spidey is no slouch on the battlefield. His speed values are nice and consistent mix of 9’s and 8’s. His attack values are well, amazing. Starting with an 11 attack, and never lower than a 9. His defense values are finally where they need to be, an 18 to start that drops to a 17 for most of the dial and finally a single 16 on his last clix. Mr. Parker can also dish out some solid damage. A 3 damage value shows on most of the dial, with a single 2 on his final clix. Unfortunately his range value is 0, but he has a special power that helps make up for this, more on that later.
Powers and abilities
Ok so what powers can supplement those solid combat values. First off Spidey has a full dial of Leap/climb. So he can get in and out of combat with ease. Next he has Super Strength sprinkled in on his 1st, 4th and 5th clix. Not a whole lot of standard powers but that takes us to our next section-special powers and traits.
Special Powers and Traits
This version of the wondrous web head has a special power called Web Shooters. Now if I understand this correctly, the character stays in the web space until they break away. This may not be effective on characters that have powers like Phasing or Leap/Climb, but for figures that don’t; this has potential to be a pain in the buttocks. It should be interesting to see how it works out in an actual game.
This version of Spidey also has a trait called Spidey Sense. This allows him to use Super senses on a roll of 4-6. Now what makes this so cool is the word “use” (see Use and Possess). This verbiage means that his Spidey Sense ability cannot be the subject of an opposing characters Outwit. So Spidey can take comfort that his Spidey Sense will be in effect almost always. (I say almost always, because we still don’t know if the new Venom or feats will have a way around this).
