Everything is wrong with Dawn of Justice12/14/2015: It's no secret that we think Dawn of Justice is looking terrible. That last trailer was particular painful in all sorts of ways (especially Lex Luthor). Don't take our word for it:  CinemaSins Jeremy  says it bext:

(warning, this trailer contains some foul language)

Your Comments:
Silly question here...

Has Warner Bros. ever thought about bringing Bruce Timm on as a consultant instead of using the usual gang of idiots to come up with movie plots and characters?

Posted by: Kragnorak on 3/1/2016 10:42:28 AM
It doesn't take a genius to figure out why Superman can't see through the smoke. It's most likely a lead based smokescreen, rendering Sups vision useless. Also, keep in mind the cinematic Superman has never had to use his brain to solve an issue. I'm not a Superman hater, but please keep in mind Superman is the youngest member of the cinematic Trinity. He has a lot to learn and will likely fall victim to his overconfidence in his abilities.

Posted by: RickyBobby on 2/29/2016 3:09:44 PM
I agree 100%... This is the worse Lex Luthor ever!

From Yahoo:

"Doomsday isn't just the final act," Tatopoulos promised. He goes on to say that there's actually a "larger threat" in the film and fans will be very surprised by the "timeframe of how things fall into place." -- Patrick Tatopoulos, Dawn of Justice Production Designer

Nice fan trailer avoiding the Doomsday (or maybe Wraith or maybe Donatello) reveal. This movie is, naturally, impossible to judge from the trailer. It will either be great or tosh. But if tosh, it looks like entertaining tosh! Face it who are we kidding, every one of us is going to see this, the money is as good as spent.

Here's hoping Sean Bean has a cameo stating "They have a Doomsday"!

Posted by: MantisWarrior on 12/11/2015 4:05:42 PM
@The Le and Sandy Hawk
I certainly am entertained! I like a good debate and I’m glad the two of you are doing so with respectful, well throughout opinions. I believe the quote just needed that little bit of dramatic flair to go along with the Lex motif.
So… New topic. Think we’ll see Batman acting as the “world’s greatest detective” at any point? Supes vs Doomsday, Batman vs Lex maybe?

Posted by: Reddom on 12/11/2015 3:42:52 PM
@Reddom
Are you not entertained? Seriously though, I respect people's opinions no matter how much I disagree with them. I'm just hoping that through my discourse that some of these people can cut this trailer a little slack, as I cited the main reason being that most people are confusing this for a Superman v Batman movie instead of the Justice League origin movie. C'est la vie.

@The LE
This is definitely not a flame war, not with you anyway (maybe the Deadpool kiddies/fanboys...I kid). I'm glad there are no ill feelings on your part, and I can only hope that my words have swayed your opinion. In the very least I hope you reconsider your staunch stance against anything Snyder/DC is doing right now. Why? You are in a position of power. You reach the masses with your very impressive website, and have the power to sway their opinions too. So why not use it for good? These movies stand to benefit us normal folk who can't wait to see what Marvel/DC has planned for the coming years. We are living in our Renaissance, so why not enjoy it and hold all reservations until the movie comes out? On behalf of everyone here I thank you for providing this public forum in which we are allowed to express our freedom. Godspeed.

Posted by: Sandy Hawk on 12/10/2015 3:40:15 PM
@Reddom: I'd hardly call this a flame war. I think we've all been very civil about all this. I even "called out" some of Sandy's comments for the front page. As long as you can make a compelling argument (or passionate one), then I support you.

Posted by: The Le on 12/9/2015 6:21:10 PM
Boys! (or girls)
Mmmm, The Le meets Sandy Hawk, I love it.
Hello, Le, Sandy. Wow! That is and impressive argument. Do not pick a flame war with this person.

...Sorry I'm just having fun.

Posted by: Reddom on 12/9/2015 5:50:11 PM
Are you saying that Marvel uses unknown characters because they have creativity? If so, I agree, but look at the titles they get released in. They dare not run the risk of using an unknown/lesser villain in any of their Avengers titles. What you're missing, and everyone else apparently, is that this is the origin to the Justice League (not simply a Batman v Superman movie), so why not use a villain powerful enough to have them set aside their petty squabble and force them to team up to take it down?

I agree it's probably not Wraith, and that kind of serves my point. Would the fans rather see Wratih, a relatively unknown character, or Doomsday? It's too soon for Darkseid, Brainiac, Anti-Monitor, Despero, and Starro who are all staples or iconic Justice League villains. Using one of these aliens will also take away from the story of people grappling with the idea that Superman is an alien, and not trusting him.

The only feasible one could have been Amazo since he has name recognition, is not an alien, and is powerful enough to take down the league. But if you think about it, were he to show up when Doomsday appears on the trailer, wouldn't he just have Superman's powers to copy? Wouldn't it then become Man of Steel 2? As we watch two Supermen duke it out again? What makes him great is being able to copy several power sets and use them very efficiently. Obviously it's too soon for him as well.

Honestly though, what were you expecting this movie to be? A death match between Bats and Supes? Were you expecting them to hug it out at the end of the movie once they reached a stalemate? Lex Luthor showing up in a green power suit? They'd miss out on his transformation from annoying geek to overall badass (which is comic accurate, read Superman: Secret Origin). He's a much better character to develop over time as opposed to Doomsday, who in all reality is just a weapon.

Oh and Nolan didn't pop Joker and Bane on screen right away, check your facts. Overall, your arguments are just not sound.

Posted by: Sandy Hawk on 12/7/2015 2:56:48 PM
@Sandy Hawk - Take a relatively unknown character like Wraith and turn it into a movie star? Not likely. This isn't Marvel you know. Honestly, Zak "The hack" Snynder and and Christopher Nolan really aren't that creative when it comes to characterization. Like Bane, Joker, and Zod before before, they're going to take the biggest and most well known characters in the DC mythos an pop them on the screen right away. That is very likely Doomsday we're seeing in the trailer - that's Zak and Nolan's M.O. - lack of creativity.

Posted by: The Le on 12/7/2015 5:32:42 AM
Obviously a good trailer? A bit of a stretch there mate.

Posted by: eddy on 12/6/2015 9:00:17 PM
Yeah I had to google Wraith... But that looks like it would make more sense, and be a nice twist! I bet they use the better known Doomsday though. Oh well I'm excited to see it and that's my opinion.

Posted by: Reddom on 12/6/2015 8:04:28 PM
Wow, so much hate for what was obviously a good trailer...if you think it's based on Frank Miller's Dark Knight saga, you clearly don't know what you're talking about. I could list all the inaccuracies with that argument, but that'd take too long. At the very most it's "very loosely" based on some of the elements such as the suit, weapons, and fight scenes. Batman doesn't use guns!!! Yes he does, if he needs to. Read the Final Crisis series of 2008 (it's not a Deadpool comic so it might be a tough read for some of you). Superman's personality changed? Read New 52 Superman, he's a douche. Batman not funny? Put down your Deadpool comic and Google "times Batman was funny", you won't regret it.

The whole world doesn't know Superman's secret identity, please educate yourself lest you look foolish. Doomsday looks like a ninja turtle/cave troll? True, but did you know that Doomsday evolves? Probably not, again try reading something other than Deadpool comics. Have you even considered the possibility that it's not even Doomsday, but that it might be Wraith? Do you even know who Wraith is? I'll give you a hint, he's not in any Deadpool comic you might have read.

Have your opinion, no one is taking that away, but at least hate this trailer for valid reasons. Don't just regurgitate the negative press you've read about it. Go back to reading your Deadpool comics, or whatever it is you kids do nowadays.

im surprised everyone is giving this guy crap. this movie looks like its going to be terrible lol

Posted by: rob on 12/5/2015 1:23:22 PM
On the plus side I'm glad to see a bit of humour added in to this. This series was in danger of becoming too moody and sulky.
On a more negative side, I feel it's way too early to put something as big as Doomsday into the mix, particularly as a minion for Lex. This seems like a repeat of DC being dumb enough to start off Green Lantern with Paralax. Metallo, Bizarro, Atomic Skull, Conduit and Bloodsport might have all fit in a bit better.

Posted by: annoyinglizardvoice on 12/5/2015 3:24:47 AM
I like the new direction they're going with introducing a ninja turtle to crossover new universes. With his skills he'll beat all three future justice League members hahahaha. Seriously doomsday does look like micheal bays teenage mutant ninja turtle.......or that big troll from lord of the rings.

What have I become? Superheroes are supposed to inspire us to be better, to do better and to know better. Not run around like angry douchebags.

Posted by: Last son Of Krypton on 12/4/2015 5:57:18 AM
@DM CROW - there may be some confusion on my thoughts about this movie. I think it *could* still be good, but I have doubts. If BvS gives us the same characterization as Man of Steel, then it will be terrible in my opinion... but financially successful like a Michael Bay movie -- it's not supposed to be good, it's just supposed to make money. And that's really my problem -- a property like this is being tossed aside in the quality department just to make a big budget money maker.

That being said, if you judge the trailer by itself as what it is -- a preview to entice people to pay $10 to see the full thing -- well, the trailer fails completely; I certainly wouldn't pay $1 to see the whole thing. Sadly, there's a lot of Michael Bay fans that would pay to see this, and will do so multiple times.

Posted by: The Le on 12/4/2015 5:14:47 AM
it is sad how some fans are trying to justify this as a good movie and as for miller it is based upon his graphic novel

Posted by: DM CROW on 12/3/2015 8:51:58 PM
@DM CROW - are you talking about Frank Miller? I think he lost his cred years ago with the incredibly awful Dark Knight Strikes Again, and his anti-Islam rantings with his Holy Terror comic (which was supposed to be Batman, but DC was smart enough to tell him no).

Posted by: The Le on 12/3/2015 5:46:39 PM
lol wow if you do not see that the story is all wrong and that Hollywood keeps putting this type of movies out there just to make a buck then i can not help you this is a disgrace to miller and again this is my opinion and i am sticking with it

Posted by: DM CROW on 12/3/2015 4:44:03 PM
ya what this guy said i couldn't agree more /
Fuck you Batchman vs Ubermench trailer and here's why...
I could have sworn everyone knew Ubermenches name was "Clark Kent" in the first movie. Did everyone suddenly forget they knew his secret identity already? Are they really going to try and do the glasses thing now? Secondly, WTF was that "Uh, I thought she was with you" Bullshit?! Batchman's the f**k*'n comic relief now?! Batman ain't about stupid quips! Also when they start acting like Batman and Superman then I'll call them Batman and Superman, but until then Batchman and Ubermench is as good as they're gona get. It's what they deserve.
In my very best Yosimity Sam impression, "OOOOH I hates everybody involved in this damn movie!" I hated the complete s**t outa the first one and even walked out of the theater, with both middle fingers up, crop dust'n all the idiots who didn't follow me out and the Only saving grace for the second film as far as I was concerned was the addition of Ben Affleck who "adore" *wind chimes* Seeing him in the costume was Great! Hearing his voice as Batman was Great! Seeing him turn into the quipy, gun tote'n "Batchman" is f**k*ing "horrific!" And who's the "Jackass" writing this s**t! Who told him it was a good idea to change the characters key personality traits? Batchmans uses gun and Ubermench has a chip on his shoulder not to mention Lex Luthflor act'n like a f**k*'n clown! I mean what the Fuck is happening?!
I know some people will say *whinenily* "but Solomon, the the movies not out yet, maybe it's Not a gun, maybe everything will make sense once the movies out, It's just a TRAI-LERrr!" and to those people I say, "Go sit on a f**k*ing tac, and shut the f**k* up grin emoticon" I'm reviewing/giving my opinion on the "trailer" Even tho, judging by how much I hated the first movie, the second one will probably suck too, but for now just the trailer.
This Fuckwreck of a f**k*'n movie better be the "BEST S**T EVER" I mean the elseworld f**k*'n versions of my favorite super heroes better be So f**k*ing Awesome I start bus'n nuts in the theater or I just might throw some s**t at the screen...like a god-damn Chimp!
Fuck that trailer! ...and have a nice day grin emoticon

Posted by: DM CROW on 12/3/2015 3:33:53 PM
How does the story suck? Oh right, you have a Deadpool icon, that explains how you know so much...

Posted by: Yeppers on 12/3/2015 9:58:02 AM
and dammmm the story sucks

When are you gonna get over your hatred for Man of Steel? You can't even give any credit to the Batman V. Superman trailer and it was great. Not "underwhelming at best". Talk about being bias.

Posted by: Arvinak on 6/4/2015 12:03:57 AM
Ugh...please just stop talking about ANYTHING Man of Steel related.

I love how this comic book inspired, fantastical, super technological vehicule for stealth and combat, have turning signals. Batman does think of everything.

Mounted guns on a vehicle for a man who refuses to use guns which as he puts it "are the weapons of cowards." It's times like these where the Batman mythos falls short. There's no difference between a mounted 50 cal and a 9mm handgun in regards to the category of "gun." And not that it's a competition, but which one is more cowardly: the guy in your face with a handgun or the one behind bulletproof glass with twin miniguns? Oh well, I'm sure they use rubber bullets...cause when you're spraying and praying those won't kill anybody...

Posted by: Flavorabledeez on 4/26/2015 7:21:28 AM
Way better with than the bat tumbler. The guns should be retractable though.

Posted by: kaijuhero on 4/25/2015 10:34:41 AM
I was always open minded but sometimes too much. I nearly had myself convinced Green Lantern and Ang Lee's Hulk was good.

Playing Batman is like taking over for Shakespeare after someone's great run. It tends to disappoint.

Posted by: Tulusetula on 4/25/2015 8:34:25 AM
Wow you should make a separate website called man of steel,Dark Knight Rises and Daredevil rants because this does not involve Heroclix and your repetative rants are very annoying and running the excitement for some of us who enter each movie theater featuring a comic movie release with an open mind and are just there to have fun instead of dissect and compare. You sound like a troll. Please stop with this judgemental negativity and focus on something positive if you can!

Posted by: bizmanlance on 4/25/2015 1:38:59 AM
In response to the Batmobile, I don't hate it. It looks batish, and it's not a tank. I'd just say the mounted guns don't seem right. I'm all for function, but maybe if they were hidden?

Posted by: adomine on 4/24/2015 5:38:10 PM
While I'm not much of a DC fan except for deathstroke and deadshot being my favs.. The justice league is blah... but in sure it's gonna be kinda like a avengers bring em all together film but it's not anything new to me... I knew this at least 5 years ago

Posted by: The 1 an only DEADPOOL on 4/23/2015 5:11:51 PM
Okay, now that is the difference between Marvel and DC. Thank the heavens WB is not trying to copy Marvel with the DC mythos.

While Marvel is about humans reaching up and trying to be more than human, only to show their flaws, DC has always been about those who are more than human learning how to not get in humanity's way...

And this is a great beginning. MOS was okay on it's own, but in the context of this movie, MOS changes to a new meaning.

Posted by: Benjamin on 4/23/2015 1:37:19 AM
Quite like this trailer:
1)The build up explains why Superman is going to be set upon by batman.
2) The action scenes aren't all leaked but we can see the costumes.
3) I'm left wanting to see more.

Maybe I'm just an optimist!

Posted by: MantisWarrior on 4/20/2015 8:26:12 AM
Are they still doing the "Superman is the second coming of Christ" thing? Because if they are I'm not running to the cinema for this one.

Posted by: Player 2 on 4/17/2015 1:51:34 PM
The le just hates anything to do with this movie.
