Quintessential Iron Patriot

The Quintessential Iron PatriotIt's the 4th of July, so let's celebrate Independence Day with the Quintessential Iron Patriot!

The Quintessential series takes just one character and discusses the ideal HeroClix dial for it.

The Quintessential Iron Patriot comes into variables, the veteran 157 point version and the lower 117 version. All versions come with Flight, Indomitable, Invulnerability, Running Shot, and Sidestep. While he only has 5 clicks of life with the 117 point version, he starts off with Penetrating/Psychic Blast and Running Shot, letting him shoot-and-scoot. Two starting clicks of Outwit can let him deal damage to even the Hulk

Dial by Eric Schaen (continued below)

The Quintessential Iron Patriot

If you're willing to splurge an extra 40 points, you get a far different kind of Quintessential Iron Patriot with 2 extra clicks of life. With an increased defense and damage, the Quintessential Iron Patriot now has Energy Explosion with Precision Strike and can use both Leadership and Perplex.

So which one is better? Well, they're both pretty good, and it will just depend on what kind of team you're looking to make. The 157 point version should be good in both 300 and 400 point games.

Would you play the Quintessential Iron Patriot?

Finally, Norman's back in the game! Next, do Green Goblin.

@ The 1 N only, Glad you like it. I don't often reply to posts but since you asked so nicely...

The opening 10 is because with the 4 damage and the perplex I wanted it to be a bit of a tough call as to use perplex for more damage or higher attack/defense options. With an 11 attack and the perplex upfront I thought it would be a little too much for stormin' Norman. The earthbound is after the armor has taken severe damage and is pretty much trashed. The regeneration is there as a self repair feature if you can get it to work before being trashed.

I actually like this interpretation of Iron Pat. Just a few call outs. like why no 11 attack on click 1? and why Earth bound/neutralize on his last?? other than that looks good.

I'd play this over that new war machine anyday.

And it was a fine addition.

@MantisWarrior: The dial is 99% Eric's. I added the 3-die-roll to make it interesting.

Nice dial. I love the heat seeking missiles mechanic. Very elegant. Has that been done before or is it 100% Eric?

Posted by: MantisWarrior on 7/5/2015 6:45:06 AM
I'm glad it's Osborne and not Rhodes. Dark Avengers need some love.

So a German, a Russian, and an Englishman walk into a bar. A large bald eagle swoops in and carries them away in its talons.
America!
