I'm a big fan of Gears of War. It took me over 2 years to get the Veteran Gears achievement (only 2% of the Gears of War population has achieved this), and it looks like Gears of War 3 will probably take up most of my time in 2012.

With the Gears of War HeroClix set just around the corner (I've already orderd by case), I thought it would be fun to discuss the five best weapons found in the Gears of War franchise.

#5 Longshot
Built for range, this sniper rifle has the best zoom in the game and can literally blow an enemy's head off. Even in the more difficult Horde stages, the damage boost from a perfect reload can take an enemy down in just one shot.

As awesome as it is, the Longshot only appears in the #5 slot because it's a rather difficult weapon to use and has a very slow re-load rate... and if you re-load incorrectly, you're a sitting duck!
