The question: Why would some sets only be available at Comic Stores and Hobby Shops?
A better question is why would they be available anywhere else?
If my dollars are spent from some on-line retailer or at Target. then I will be helping Wizkids drive the game to it's knees. Becaue, believe it or not, the comic shops (i.e. the place where we play our clix games) need our dollars in order to continue to support us. I find it highly unliekly that Target will be setting up a gaming area for us anytime in the near future, let alone put up with the antics of many of us....

What they should have mentioned is to expect to be considered lucky if you can actuall find any of these at a Toys-R-Us. Not a single Store in my STATE received any of these. I know of 15 players that would like to get at least 1 of each of these figuares but they are not to be found. Sure I can try to buy one in an auction starting at $25.00 for something someone purchased for $15.00. I will never understand Wizkids logic in makeing these only available in limited areas or Toys-R-Us not making them available for on-line purchase. I guess wizkids can afford to walk away from millions of dollars nation wide. Their logic for running a business aludes me. Sets that are only available a hobby shops or only at comic shops. Why? Different set sold in Europe and the USA. Why?
If I did not enjoy the game and have so much invested in it I would walk away from it.

I was able to get myself and my little brother Apocalypse and sentinal mark V just by having an employee scour the stock room for them, and for our luck the guy found them in a box just entering the store room.
The sculpt for apocalypse is quite appealing to be honest and though it is a bit weaker than the GSX one I couldn't be any more content having it.
As for the Sentinel Mark V, must say I like the way you can replace the hand with the beamed character hand. Too bad that it wasn't the Mark II Sentinel my little brother wanted it so bad but he settled for what he got...
On anothe note Both sentinels are great but have me wondering why are the starting lines not connected, considering that there so many assumtions to figure on what they were thinking when they made these.

Never the less I'm glad I was able to get the maneger to get them and cash us out for them.

Well I finally Got Apoc today(6/3/2011) and got the Mark II last week thanks to my gf who happen to be able to charm a dooshbag employee out of the one he was hiding. The TRU store that was selling them here(Mesa, Az on Power Rd)most of the employees are collector's/Dealer Hounds, so I was tottally shock that I actually got two of the three.

Wizkids can't even make enough of their regular sets and now they are doing this dumb stuff. I'm a retailer and a collector and I'm getting screwed on both ends:(

Yeah. Ditto Wombatboy on that. No ToysRUS near us either. Neca REALLY dropped the ball hear.

The Toys R Us in my area is not one of the stores getting them.

Rather than bringing new players into the game these retail exclusives just end up alienating the portion of the existing player base that isn't lucky enough, fast enough, or rich enough to snap them up a case at a time.

Posted by: Wombatboy on 5/16/2011 9:19:22 PM
Well, NO Toys R Us near me either here or where I'm moving to. Maybe I'll get them online. Not that impressed with Apocalypse, maybe the sentinels. Oh well.

Posted by: Thewildeman2 on 5/16/2011 6:59:37 AM
Awesome! This means that I'll still have a chance to get these. I was totally expecting them to have all been snatched up by scalpers by the time I get paid on Monday night.

Great, this morning I put 85 miles on my car, burned $15 in gas, and wasted 2 hours of my time. Promo=FAIL.

No offense intended to The Le or this site. I know you are the messenger. Thanks for getting this out.

GREAT!!! Now I have to wait for my Apocalypse & sentinels!

Posted by: Shadius on 5/15/2011 8:53:42 AM
awesome, I love the idea of having these characters at a less pricey point cost. very excited about making a sentinel team. ALSO hoping to see future heroclix products sold at toys r us as well as other, more mainstream retailers.....

Posted by: diglettunderground on 5/13/2011 6:21:28 PM
so anyone wanna gather on what the price is going to be? the normal 25 of the others?

Posted by: SevenFeathers on 5/13/2011 5:29:45 PM
I haven't seen the dial for the GSX original Apocalypse, whats the difference?

Posted by: geminimerc on 5/13/2011 3:20:21 PM
I honestly hope with all the new mass market HeroClix items coming out, we are not seeing the downfall of the brick and mortar.

Posted by: blackhart on 5/13/2011 2:57:33 PM
