#1 Vega

First appearing as a CPU only character, Vega became player-enabled starting with Street Fighter II: Champion Edition... and man was he fun. His speed and claws made you feel like you were playing a mix between Wolverine and Bruce Lee. And there were the little touches, like losing your claw in the middle of the fight, or the ability to fly higher than even Chun Li!

Unfortunately, Vega became far less of a threat when the "Super Street Fighter" series debuted, which gave all the other characters a bigger powerboost than was given to Vega, but his legacy sure does endure.

With an excellent costume, amazing moves, and designed for a finesse playing style, it's no wonder that Vega is the #1 Street Fighter!

Please note that the "Vega" character is known as "Balrog" in the japanese version.
