Galactic Guardians Gravity Feed Super skrullCombating Super Skrull
Once you get past Super Skrull’s Shape Change and Team ability, landing a hit shouldn’t be to hard to accomplish. Since his powers make him a difficult target for ranged attacks, go for the close combat attack as soon as possible. It’s probably a good idea to base him with a character that has a damage reducing power. This way you avoid taking poison damage on the next turn if you missed the attack. Since his first clix is arguably his best clix, once you land a hit he’ll be a little easier to deal with.

If you have a character that can use Probability Control handy, make sure you position them in a place to support your attacker should they miss. The last thing you want to do is keep giving Super Skrull the opportunity to make use of his Shape changing abilities.

Feat Suggestions
If you are playing in a format that allows feat card, here are some suggestions:

Since Super Skrull starts off with the Shape Change power, the Camouflage feat is a natural choice. For a cost of just (8) points, this feat will ensure super Skrull is safe from attacks or powers that require a line of fire, as long as you place him adjacent to walls or blocking terrain.

Another low cost option I like is the Alias feat. For just (3) points, this feat will give Super Skrull the ability to use Shape Change when he is on those clix that do not already have that power. Just remember it’s a one and done option.

HeroClix OnlineGot (5) points left over? Sometimes pushing is necessary. The Endurance feat will allow Super Skrull to avoid taking pushing damage for a turn, or even multiple turns. Be sure and use this when the timing is right but keep in mind, the more you use this feat the more you may pay for it later.

Conclusion
At 100 points Super Skrull is a little costly, but thanks to his combination of team ability and special powers, I think he is still a respectable option. He will probably work best as a secondary attacker and harassment piece. Just be sure to have a primary attacker for him to work with when building your team.

That’s all I got for now fellow gamers. See you soon with another Slade Files!

News Flash!!! The SUPER SKRULL and SKRULL ASSASSIN are both available at the HeroClix Online store this Thursday for just 45 cents! Come join the HeroClix Online community now!

@Tiny Tim: The Slade Files are not "reviews" -- they are analysis on ways to play with and against certain characters in the HeroClix World (see what I did there?).

Nice dial. Kind of a blah review.

Fists and Arms is something similar to what should be on every Mr.Fantastic piece.

Rock Fists & Elastic Arms SP is going to be one of those weirdo power descriptions that going to be in question by a lot of players. I'm assuming since it's still a close combat attack then powers like ESD & hindering terrain bonsues won't work even though it's coming from 3 squares away and requires LOF?

On the other hand I do like Invisible Shields and Rock Skin SP. It's always good to have options! I think at 100 pts. this version of Super Skrull, while not a powerhouse by any stretch, is a very tactical finese piece for it's points in the hands of a good player.

Seriously nice spread of abilities. He goes from being a mild annoyance piece thanks to stealth/energy shield/shapechange/skrulls TA to being quite the formidable tie up piece. He may not even be viable for secondary attacker status, but in larger games he's going to easily stop teams that tend to cluster and stay close together.

Yes yes, I see Kl'rt, but what I'm really curious about is if he can team with Praxagora in the main set.

I do love Stealth as one of the defense options.
