Quintessential Dr. Doom HeroClix Dial (Reader's Choice!)Last week we did a poll asking who you would like featured in a Quintessential HeroClix article, and you chose DR. DOOM!

The Quintessential series discusses just one character and presents the "ideal" HeroClix dial for that character.

You'll notice that this Dr. Doom comes in at a slightly higher 200 points, leaving enough room for some minions and support pieces. Doom isn't an uber powerhouse, but he's not supposed to be - he's a Latverian ruler with a self defeating subconscious and delusions of grandeur. He's a Minions of Doom Wild Card with Flight and Indomitable, and he hates Reed Richards.

Dial by Eric Schaen (continued below...)

Quintessential Dr. Doom HeroClix Dial (Reader's Choice!)

Quintessential Dr. Doom HeroClix Dial (Reader's Choice!)Everything's pretty self explanatory on Dr. Doom here -- Running Shot, Energy Explosion, Invulnerability, ProbabilityControl, etc. But also notice he can use Outwit and Perplex... perfect for Brilliant Tactician in your Golden Age games!

Master dial maker Eric Schaen found a really nice way to incorporate some DOOMBOTS into the mix too with the Robot Duplicates Trait. So in a standard 300 point game, you're looking at 2 Doombots to mix things up for your game! Imagine having 4 Doombots in a 600 point game, perplexing Dr. Doom's damage to 6 and attack value to 12!

Of course, Dr. Doom is all about acquiring knowledge and power, and his Power for the Taking trait says it all. He did steal the Beyonder's power in Secret Wars after all.

Everything Doom is on one dial! Truly quintissential, nay definitive, well done!

Doombots are indeed a nice touch

Really enjoyed this and loved the Doombot to boot. Doom is by far my favorite villain.

@Lord Logan, we do mix it up with unclixed characters like Spawn, GI JOE, the Turtles etc. More will be coming! Hooooooo!

I would love to see Vengeance ( Ghost Rider enemy) and Zeus from Marvel (who beat and embarrassed Hulk). For otherclix I'd love to see Orochimaru from Naruto and Cell from DBZ. I'd even make fair and comic accurate dials for these if you would consider featuring them.

Yes and I enjoy it to the extent that I wish they made him. I'm not even a Spawn fan. I wish whats-his-face would let Wizkids just make them and not gripe about the cloth thing.

@Lord Logan: Well, we did do a Quintessential Spawn last week!

Posted by: The Le on 8/20/2014 7:28:47 PM
Can we get unclixed pieces? We've already seen every Superman there has been.

Posted by: Lord Logan on 8/20/2014 6:07:25 PM
Very impressive I'd say this is almost spot on. The only thing I'd say that could be added is some type of mastermind to only doombots. Keep it up each quin dial is getting better and better.

i would have prefered to see the second trait an epic action.
So you can keep spamming doombot while playing

The Latveria keyword is much needed for theme teams good call!

Love it! Again, a solid, balanced dial for the points. Keep em coming!
