10 BAttle PacksThe announcement of the Jonah Hex Battle Pack got us drooling with ideas. After all, this is fairly new to the Heroclix universe.

As far as clear-boxes are concerned, Wizkids has traditionally given us new Boxed sets with seven figures or a new starter set -- the Jonah Hex pack is the first time we've been given just 3 new figures in a clear non-blind container.

Think about the possibilities here! Well, we certainly have, and we're going to tell you about it!.

Similar to our 22 Boxed Sets article, we present 10 Battle Packs that HeroClix World wants (in no particular order).

Cuckoos HeroClix1. Cuckoos

We first got a taste of the Cuckoos in the Marvel Mutations and Monsters set, and we fell in love with them. For 40 points you got a very nice tie-up figure that worked great in swarms. Could these be the first special powers that makes the figure work best in groups? I think so, Brain. Just take a look at the Cuckoo's special powers:

COORDINATION: Cuckoo can use Mind Control. When Cuckoo is given a move action, she can carry up to two other adjacent Cuckoos.

HIVE MIND: When Cuckoo is given an action, you can modify one of her combat values (including range) by +1 until the end of the round for each other Cuckoo adjacent to her.

Best of all, they're common. Now imagine being able to buy 3 of them in a single Battle Pack! There's no need for new dials or sculpts -- just give me the reprints. Heck, I'd buy a dozen just to play a "Stepford Children" team! (Ooo.. I just creeped myself out a little)

Shield HeroClix2. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents

We've gotten some awesome Agents in the past, but we can always use more. I'd love to get 3 different versions here (with the same sculpt) and give it the same battlefield promotion mechanic that the Brave and the Bold Checkmate Agents got. Wizkids treated us with a reprint of Nick Fury in the Iron Man Battle Pack, how about some new S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to go with him?

Remember that the S.H.I.E.L.D.Team Ability only works on friendly characters also using the same TA, but this shouldn't be a problem for team builders out there. Wizkids, please don't stick a unique in here -- we want to buy multiples of this pack!

(edit: Whoops. Shield can be used on any friendly figure, even those that do not have that TA.Special thanks to beardedtoyman for pointing this out!)

Going to go old school here and go back to a Marvel Team Up What If? Comic. The team up of Aunt May and Franklin Richards.

Aunt May babysat Franklin, and got the Power Cosmic. And had to feed Glactus Twinkies after Franklin gave him one. Aunt May Gathered all the world's Twinkie supply and eventually found a Twinkie planet with a marshmallow chef. The chef became Galactus' new herald and May lost the power cosmic.

So I propose Franklin Richards, "Golden Oldie" Aunt May, and the Marshmallow Chef.

omega red is the russian guy with the tentacles

Amazons. We need an Amazons battle pack.

Posted by: Dakkoth on 7/27/2010 5:08:04 PM
how about some more hellfire club members

Posted by: jester71781 on 7/26/2010 12:53:41 AM
They could have a weapon X set with dead-pool, lady death-strike and the Russian with the metal tentacles who i forgot his name.

Ok got another one...
the missing numbers of the Royal flush gang.
could just be 3 generic henchmen types that have a minion ability, maybe even 3 diferent types of guys each minioned to an exsisting member. as for the numbers just make them blank with a set of water-slide transfers.
Royal flush bruser (minion ability giving charge & +1 AV when within 8 of Ace)
Royal flush Marksman (Minion ability giving ranged combat expert when within 8 of Jack & Ten)
Royal Flush Elite (minion ability like hammer elite operative when within 8 of King & Queen)

I like the Onslaught love. I think they should make one with a removable Professor X and Franklin. Either on a "Four-Square" base with the REV point values showing the addition of the two characters(think of the Sentinel with his point values described as different Marks); or an "8-square" base with a dial for the different point values (think Galactus).

The battle pack I would suggest would be one about Onslaught!! I don´t know why there isn´t a figure of Onslaught there are so many posibilities in there!. For the pack I would suggest:
Franklin Richards

Just a note - the S.H.I.E.L.D. team ability can be used to boost any friendly figure, not just figs that share the TA. They are great on any team!

the only ones that look interesting are the faces of spiderman, other lanterns, and spawn

I love some of these ideas. Doubt we will see them but I am all for em. What about a police set with police dogs? Personally I want to start a petition for a new Indy clix set, the Tick would fit as would old favorites like the Phantom, Terminator, Judge Dred and the Danger Girls among others. Heck why not Buffy and Angel? Dracula (used in Marvel and once scary) and some vampire lackey's? How about some street folks like new con artists and other low level criminal types for marvel sets? The possibilities are endless.

Great article. I would pick up the GL packs for sure. I doubt battle packs would ever feature new sculpts, but it would be a great thing if they did. By the way, Infinity Challenge was the first clix-appearance of Wolvie in his brown and yellow's. The "Berzerker" Wolvie LE, while being a repaint of the REV sculpt from the set, is sporting the "Byrne" suit.

Posted by: machineman on 6/29/2010 8:52:24 AM
If I'm not mistaken, the "Byrne" Wolverine was also featured in the Clobbering Time expansion.

Posted by: Thearthandyman on 6/29/2010 2:03:05 AM
The Green Lantern set would be cool, but I seriously doubt if ANY of these will EVER be made.

Posted by: MacGyver on 6/28/2010 10:29:41 PM
I would want to see various other Lantern Corps members. We've already gotten Kilowog, Kyle Rayner and hell even G'nort. Now say if they have the Lantern Leaders in 75th aniversary set (yes I only say this cause I'm really hoping it happens) then we could have battle packs other Corpsmen such as for Red: Dex-Star, Bleeze and Vice!

Posted by: Lord Logan on 6/28/2010 8:23:09 PM
I love this article! I would much prefere an Action pack instead of a Battle pack though. Yes, it maybe more expensive but I feel like I'm getting my $$$ worth with a sense of graification. Awesome The Le, thank you :-)

Posted by: Ianator on 6/28/2010 8:08:09 PM
How about 2 hand ninja's and a kirgi with a battlefield promotion between them

Posted by: CaptainAwesome on 6/28/2010 7:12:01 PM
for the green lantern pack i would want kyle rainer more then anyone else, he rebuilt the freaking corps from less then scratch, plus he's just awesome.

Posted by: Chris Mercer on 6/28/2010 5:14:48 PM
Ha! Pogs for Aunt May, etc, not pigs

Posted by: tylerdrake on 6/28/2010 4:49:27 PM
Fun article.
I would love Spidey and his Amazing Friends, with pigs for Aunt May and their dog (ms Lion?)

Tick would be great. Arther has a moth suit though.

In selections 1-4 I'd be especially for it if it included a reprint of the appropriate LE -- Esme Cuckoo for pack 1 and Henchman in pack 4, for instance. For the purists they'd still be technically different than the original prize LEs (they'd sport a different number and set symbol) and this would all but guarantee they'd sell through.

Posted by: Miraclo on 6/28/2010 3:01:21 PM
Heck yes to Green Lantern Corps! The ATA for GL Honor Guard is crazy good but we need some low point Corps members to choose from. Unfortunately I came too late to the party to get my hands on the GL starter which sells for way too much online now. That’s it! Reprint the GL starter figs!

Let’s also show some love for a Sinestro Corps battle pack as a ying to the Green Lantern Corps yang.

id like to see a toxic avenger pack! toxie, thug in a dress, and Apocalypse, Inc. Chairman.

I would like the "Jessica Jones Action Pack" featuring Jessica Jones, Purple Man, and Luke Cage.

it would allow me to recreate my favorite scenes from Alias, and i guess that 20 seconds from the Avengers relaunch.
