Spider-Man 2 Review Doctor OctopusThings that could have been better:

•The way John Jameson’s character was used in the movie. Nothing against the actor who played him or anything, it’s just that John Jameson has such a rich history in the comics. To use him simply as Mary Jane’s newest beau felt a bit superfluous in my opinion.

•The Death of Doctor Octopus. Do villains always have to die? I mean it seems to me if you keep killing of the villains in superhero pictures; you are also killing off the chance to use them again in some form. I know it’s a bit ambitious, but imagine if they ever did want to make a Sinister Six film. You can’t do it if all the villains keep dying.

Spider-Man 2 succeeds where so many sequels fail.  This movie is arguably one of the best sequels as well one of the best superhero-films to date.

I give Spider-Man 2 a 5 out of 5 stars.

“Erectile dysfunction analogous” ha! But seriously, it was something that gave the movie just what it needed. More of a Psychological block, it created great Drama for Peter to have to make a choice and embrace his destiny. Most good hero tales involve some form of this.

This movie had a major negative that was not mentioned in the review.

If you remember, many fans were irritated that Spidey had creepy organic web shooters instead of technical ones because movie Parker was not as smart.

But I didn't really care until the subplot of Spidey 2 where he loses his mojo and confidence and all of a sudden he can't spray his sticky white fluid everywhere. But wait, when he kisses the girl he regains his confidence and can spray and get sticky again yay!

I know Stan Lee used to have Parker getting sick and losing his powers, but it seemed poor taste to have an erectile dysfunction analogous theme emphasizing his already creepy organic webs.
