10-25-2013: Colossus clocks in at either 125 points or 175 points. we're going to have to say that those extra 2 clicks aren't worth it for the 50 extra points -- but we think he's a very nice secondary powerhouse at the 125 point level.

His powers include Charge, Plasticity, Super Strength, Invincible, Defend, Impervious, Empower, Invulnerability, and Battle Fury.

HeroClix AvX Colussus Dial

From wiki:
Avengers vs. X-Men (abbreviated AvX) is a 2012 crossover event that was featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The event, consisting of an eponymous limited series and numerous tie-in books, involves the return of the Phoenix Force and the subsequent war between the Avengers and the X-Men. The 12-issue, bimonthly series was first published in April 2012, and features a storyline by Jason Aaron, Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker, Jonathan Hickman and Matt Fraction, and a rotating team of artists including John Romita, Jr., Olivier Coipel and Adam Kubert.

question about the phioenix force dial =Setup - When placing characters in your starting area, for each character assigned to the Phoenix Force, remove 1 Fragment and assign it to that character. That Fragment is a relic assigned to that character at no cost..............is the fragment(that is removed) a relic now? = tried tew tell my judge but he disagreed and since there is no update on the internet, his ruling stands

@superfriend: Thank you. This has been corrected.

@LE
Angel is DOFP and you have his piece in AvX.

My girlfriend DESPISES Scarlet Witch because she hates the Prob/Mystics combo. I can't wait to horrify her with this one: "NO MORE THANOS/GALACTUS etc!" hahahaha

Posted by: Kragnorak on 11/21/2013 11:00:05 PM
Still unsure I need another version of any of these characters. Maybe Cable (LE) or Black Panther (part) but certainly not any of the characters in the starters. Going to sit this one out and save my money for IIM, SLOSH and War of Light.

Posted by: superfriend on 11/18/2013 7:24:18 AM
Ok i can rest easy, have seen the dials for all the pieces now and the attack values & indom ratios even out across the set.
Both Thor & Wolverine are beasts as is emma frost. wish i could fork out for both sets but its looking like i'm gonna be stuck with just the avengers.
still aside from that joke of an iron man (who is pretty unimportant, given IIM 001)and the lack of indom on Spidey i really couldn't be happier with that Avengers set

Posted by: Ste on 11/18/2013 3:41:40 AM
Im liking these figures. Cap is awesome scarlet witchme likey. Scarlet witch's powers are probability manipulation reality altering and magic in comics that is. So i believe she can also affect non mutants aswell. Anyways this new cap with the FI
blitzkrieg cap might look good together.

In regards to annoyinglizardvoice, there actually is something of a break if it releases as they've indicated. It's just a break in the middle of the event. Can you say poor planning? Assuming it releases as advertised, the starters are suppose to come out this coming week with the first month releasing the week after (the day before Thanksgiving). This really sets up a December event. The second month isn't suppose to release until the very end of January, over two months later. Which leads to a February event. Then the following two are for a March and April event. But what brain trust thought this scheduling made sense?

Posted by: PassingBy on 11/16/2013 10:34:53 AM
Some of these look fairly interesting if a little high-power. Scarlet Witch could be pretty broken. I would have rathered than they waited a month or two after Fear Itself before doing this event.

Posted by: annoyinglizardvoice on 11/15/2013 9:17:33 PM
interesting. I actually hate 300 points because I feel I cannot field a decent number of characters at 300. I hate running only 2 or 3 pieces.

Posted by: superfriend on 11/15/2013 3:44:46 PM
Wait ages for a New Magik then 2 come along in quick succession! Liking the 75 point version for a cheap Magik but annoyed she doesn't have the New Mutants keyword. Surely that is the team that defines her? Thanks to switch clix you could put the WXM sculpt on the dial and have a nice 75 point rookie. shame.

Liking the Scarlet Witch. I know she is 'broken' but that trait is only going to be dominating in big games. I'm not sure we're promised balance in anything over a 300 point game. That is what WK playtests to I believe. If you want to play 400 points plus, fine, but that is effectively 'house ruling' up the standard points value so feel free to 'house rule' certain figures as not allowed at those values. Playing at 400? No Spirals. Playing 500? No Spirals or AVX scarlet witches. I've not found many 'broken' figures to be a problem where I play as we use 300 points 90% of the time. One man armies are a pain in the behind but the 'broken' ones not so much.

Posted by: Mantis Warrior on 11/15/2013 2:35:27 PM
@The Le: Magik can't use Phasing/Teleport. She allows the team base to use it, but she doesn't have it herself.

Posted by: PassingBy on 11/15/2013 11:50:33 AM
Its WK that has the edge. I have to pay 40$ for one of these if I want to play. Sure I paid 25$ per week to play Fear Itself, but that felt OK because I was getting 10 figures each time. Now its 40$ for essentially a team base plus a booster's worth of figures (normally you get 3 with a base). I'm counting the other 2 and the 2 participation figures as the booster. I guess that's not too bad, I just don't like laying out the cash all at once. Also its not like any of us who have been playing all along need another copy of the rules. We all bought or printed that when Man of Steel came out.

Still firmly in the camp that this event is a product we do not need.

Posted by: superfriend on 11/14/2013 3:55:08 PM
@Ste

With the previews now, it does seem that x men have an edge, but we havn't seen Thor yet, he could be a 300 point monster!

Posted by: Lysarian on 11/14/2013 11:08:52 AM
Also, a lot of characters who would have been given indomitable but were not because Power Cosmic already gave them willpower would lose the willpower. I'm looking at you Gladiator.

Posted by: superfriend on 11/14/2013 9:14:39 AM
@ El pollo. i'm pretty sure that Cap was one of the last men standing against Thanos when he donned the gauntlet, also he survived having his suit charged & exploded by gambit & then when on to win the fight.
Cap is Bad A$$, its nice to see him finally get the treatment he deserves, i'll certainly be playing the hell outta this figure.
oh and he also doesn't have the power cosmic so i'm not sure where your getting that from.

@ White Pheonix. we've had some great Thors, i'll give you the fact the CW ones were pretty poor but both M10th & the movie Thor's are pretty awesome. i'm also quite partial to the Fear Itself LE fig. i know he's not a standard Thor (given Odin's sword & armor)but dammit it feels good to have a very playable power cosmic version.

The Scarlet Witch debate is kinda pointless. people are arguing over the wording of its name. she could just as easily have said no more batman, no more power cosmic ect... she's a reality warper, get over it.

my main concern now is in comparing the two sets. so far its 4 previews a piece & X-men has 4 11 attackers that all have indom, while the Avengers set is packing only 2 11 Attack figs & 2 lots of Indom.

Add in the likely-hood of Chase Cyclops' trait coming into play & the finals have the chance of playing out as X-men @ attack 12 & Avengers being stuck with a couple of 10s and lots of 9s... perplex and prob are gonna be their only hope, well that & a Book of Skull.

Still this could all change with a hopefully 150-200pt Wolverine with 12 attack, awesome healing & a dial more than 6 clix deep... one can dream:) oh and just to show i'm not just a bitter Avengers fan, i hope he gets the X-men TA & keyword as well. i see no reason not to give both factions a shot at a comic accurate Wolvie, after all the flops we've had to suffer through.

Posted by: Ste on 11/14/2013 9:12:30 AM
Scarlet Witch has some serious 'broken potential' - it seems possible for her to use her SP to 'No more Power Cosmic' or 'No more Quintessence'...
"Characters using this team ability can use Willpower and their powers can not be countered"
HUGE dent in pretty much all Colossal's and characters 250+...

Posted by: SuperPrime on 11/13/2013 9:19:11 PM
The high cost of the figure will keep it to a minimum. I would only use at 100.

Posted by: Tikiphantom on 11/13/2013 6:04:43 PM
Sweet. No more mutants is accurate seeing as it left a little over 100 mutants in the world. Batfolk with out stealth is like mutants without powers.

Posted by: bgreyloc on 11/13/2013 3:39:33 PM
Another insane dial. And another Scarlet Witch in a product that is expensive. Maybe all those folks who had to have multiple Scarlet Witches from Chaos War and drove the price of that FF set up like crazy are to blame for the 40$ price tag on these starters.

Posted by: superfriend on 11/13/2013 3:08:27 PM
@Batros: To be comic accurate, a trait like that should only impact mutants (aka X-Men TA, Ultimate X-Men TA, etc). It makes little sense that "No More Mutants" would cause POLICE TA characters to suddenly be unable to use that TA.

Posted by: The Le on 11/13/2013 2:49:15 PM
What do you mean not comic accurate? Did you forget all the crap that happened from M-day when she turned a majority of mutants into humans. Here we finally get a Scarlet Witch that actually lives up to that kind of power. I hope the rest of the figures in this set are just as decent.

Posted by: Batros on 11/13/2013 2:41:03 PM
Lookout here comes the Spider-Man!

Cant wait to give this one a go!

Posted by: Peter Parker on 11/12/2013 2:44:04 PM
@ Batros He has combat reflexes to dodge up close and Super senses to evade range. In my limited spidey knowledge this seems very comic accurate. He dodges and weaves up close then if Doc Oc chucks something at him, little lightning bolts gather round his head to let him know to jump left! ;)

I think spidey is well worth the extra points to play at full dial but are those Cap clix really worth 33 points each? As he has indom you'll likely never see the second one and 100 points that can be outwitted and one shotted (admittedly with a 20 defence!)seems a bit steep. I'd use him at the 100 point mark every time like the 200 point Batman I just can't see him as being 200 points of power. What we need is a 100 pointer who has a leadership special that perhaps passes on a 3+ and can remove a token from a higher point figure if he rolls 5+.

Posted by: Mantis Warrior on 11/11/2013 8:50:43 AM
Perhaps this is the best Spidey ever in 11 or 12 years? Perplex cuz this guy is unpredictable, Outwit because he's a scientist, Combat Reflexes for agility, a 4-6 Spidey-Senses (for ranged), Improved Movement and not just Leap/Climb anymore. The list of positives goes on. There's so much good I just don't see any bad.

Posted by: Ho1ocau5t on 11/10/2013 7:55:31 AM
Its great Spidey has super senses on 4-6, but why is it only against ranged attacks? He is just as good at dodging in close combat as he is at ranged.

Posted by: Batros on 11/8/2013 1:22:12 PM
The dials on the characters are crazy good. Might be enough in the end to make me pick up a starter and play the events. Still not convinced they are worth 40$, especially when it feels likely that the level of OP participation prizes means stores are likely to charge a participation fee to cover them.

That and who really needs another Starter set at this point.

Posted by: superfriend on 11/8/2013 8:27:29 AM
God damned, I didn't know cpt america was that powerful, incredible! able to take down hulk juggernaut Magneto Cable silver surfer,Gladiator and more. that is really impossible!he is powerless but a great leader! this dial is a lie!
maybe I missed the story where Galactus gave him the cosmic power? ;)

Posted by: el pollo loco on 11/7/2013 4:51:13 AM
Love it!! If Cap is this good, hopefully we will finally see an Amazing Spider-Man....see what i did there ;)

Posted by: DAVE on 11/6/2013 7:42:54 AM
I love this cap, both a 100 or version for regular games and a 200 or beefed up one for bigger games or ones with cap as ur heavy hitter, I do think he would've been fine without impervious, bout not to bug a gripe, love Avengers assemble can't wait to see wanda,Thor, spidey, wolvie, namor, magik, and emma

Posted by: basslion09 on 11/5/2013 11:03:55 PM
Love the 'Super Soldier & Shield' and 'Take Down' Special Powers! - not too sure about the Impervious. Cap tends to take damage just like anyone… he is just harder to hit (not unlike Batman). The 200pt. Batman is a great and accurate dial for the points, so a bit of a shame they couldn't replicate that here for Cap… that said I will probably play Cap at 200, but think the 100pt option is much more accurate.

Posted by: ClixBitsDave on 11/5/2013 9:54:39 PM
I like this cap. Guess i am buying both starters.

Posted by: vegetatemplar@yahoo.com on 11/5/2013 6:53:45 PM
Wow, Magneto, just awesome...

Posted by: Ho1ocau5t on 11/4/2013 10:15:11 AM
Like Fear itself, this set gives me pieces I just have no interest in. How many versions of these guys do I need? To be honest, if you look at GG, CW and WatX, all of the starter figures are covered. Yes, I could use a Scarlet Witch because I did not get one yet. Yes, I am interested in some of the LEs (Cable) and participation pieces (Black Panther). But it might be a better use of my time and money to pick these up on the secondary market.

Posted by: superfriend on 11/1/2013 6:47:33 AM
I like this modern day version of Colossus. A lot of folks complain about the extra 50 pts. but if you take those away, then why use this version at all. save the 25 pts, and use the 100 pt version. At 175 he can make some of your small ground pounders formidable. This guy and seven deadly brothers. All of a sudden those little 35 pt beaters are gumming up the game for your opponent. To be honest, every Colossus has multiple applications. I love the fact that I can build around him with near no limit to the team configuration.

Posted by: bgreyloc on 10/30/2013 10:07:46 AM
Another awesome version of Pete, can't wait to see the Avengers side of the starters cause the xmen side look awesome deff picking up both

Posted by: basslion09 on 10/26/2013 10:20:07 AM
@K-System: He's from the Starter.

Posted by: PassingBy on 10/25/2013 1:05:51 PM
@Ste
I think we have the opposite version of Thor's problem. It seems to me that (save the fear itself one) all Thor heroclix have been severely point depraved. 200 points for a Thor doesn't cut it when Iron Man is 220, 250 or even 300 points, but Iron Man has his own set of problems.

Posted by: white phoenix of the crown on 10/21/2013 4:53:25 PM
Yes it is... just hoping we get a 150pt cap in the avengers set now... tho we probably wont as iron man & thor will be point bloats as usual...
hay wiz kids here's an idea! give us an iron man and thor that at 100 or less points so the set can pack in a more powerful version cap, wolverine, spider-man & Scarlet witch.

we've got enough 100 - 300 point versions of thor and iron man as it is, some bottom end versions might actually prove quite useful:)

Posted by: Ste on 10/20/2013 11:51:31 AM
Is this Cyclops from the X-men starter for the event?

Posted by: K-System on 10/19/2013 4:57:25 AM
150 pts is a bit excessive...

Posted by: white phoenix of the crown on 10/18/2013 4:48:05 PM
I like the idea of this event. i loved the graphic novel. I play heroclix the official way and then i have house rules for when i play at home. I love the sculpts for magneto, thor, spiderman, namor and a few others. regardless of dials i buy some pieces just because the sculpts look cooler then the old ones i have. I pre-ordered both starter sets online for like $28 a piece. I will buy another starter set to play with the people at my venue. I love participation prizes, because even though I'm not as elite as some, I do love adding things to my collection, but more importantly i like to have fun.

Posted by: MDAWG on 9/19/2013 9:29:25 AM
@thatguy. You are the 2nd person to suggest that. I might consider it. Would have to ask around what ppl think of the idea. My town is very small so i have to see if it would work.

Posted by: pandab0mb on 9/13/2013 11:53:44 AM
Unlike the 6 months of Batman we just toiled through, 6 months of Xmen will be much better (2 months of Wolvie and X-men and 4 months of AvX).

I really like the fact that it is NOT sealed. That will open up some interesting play for a change as opposed to whoever pulls the SR\Chase\God pack WINs.

Posted by: AndrewDrexler on 9/7/2013 7:55:19 AM
I really, really want the magneto to be good. I've been waiting for a magneto with a mid-range point value who I really like that I can use as the center of my team. My favorite one so far is the Age of X, but I would love to see one that is mainstream.

Also, @annoyinglizardvoice, they are switch-clix. You can get the team base for each team as a participation prize during one of the later events.

Posted by: X-Fan on 9/5/2013 10:13:35 AM
I fell they're rushing these events out a bit too fast at the moment.
The idea of constructed events with one+ min from the sets is interesting in theory, but I'm not sold on the content of the starter or how soon the event was rushed in after Fear.
Anyone notice the bases look like these might be switch-clix?

Posted by: annoyinglizardvoice on 9/5/2013 5:07:35 AM
Spelling error fix:
I don't get why people on here say they "hate to have" to buy more upcoming clix or newer versions of characters and then take it out on Wizkids/NECA for losing money.

Posted by: Lance on 9/5/2013 4:17:59 AM
I don't get why people on here say they "hate to have" to buy more upcoming clix or newer versions of characters and then take it out on Wizkids/NECA for loding money. Guess what people buying is a choice you don't have to buy everything heroclix wise and if you feel you do thats not Wizkids fault its your own for lacking self control to spend and then send the blame some where else.
I believe if NECA did not come out with heroclix sets to match the action figures line, then either way heroclix fans would be upset and complain why a franchise of their liking only got the action figure treatment from a company whose partnered in making heroclix.
Hope this opens some eyes and makes sense.

Posted by: Lance on 9/5/2013 4:15:53 AM
Wish the store here would get into this but there aint enough players around here so he wont do it

Posted by: Zack on 9/4/2013 8:23:33 PM
Only interested in a few of these. Hate that we have to buy yet another version of most of them. Of course the one I want most, Cable, is a competitive prize.

Posted by: superfriend on 9/3/2013 11:32:18 AM
Ahhh man. Dang it. These sets are coming out way too fast. I can't even keep up. If it weren't for the modern looking Namor, Magneto, Colossus, and the Magik piece (because outside of the chase figure, I'm sure this sculpt has the X-Men key word), I'd probably get the Avengers starter. But this is an easy choice for me. X-Men all the way......

I hope I can explain spending $40 on Heroclix to my wifey.

Posted by: Kevin on 9/3/2013 10:51:16 AM
I like the idea of this format more so then the fear it self format. While I like the figures from fear it sell I'm gettig tired of 6 month events.

Posted by: Bliss on 9/3/2013 7:32:22 AM
Yes! Hammer Spinning Thor.

Posted by: MrZombie84 on 9/3/2013 5:01:55 AM
AWESOME, Spider-Man, Wolverine and Iron Man. THOSE ARE THE FIGS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!

Posted by: Kragnorak on 9/2/2013 8:09:16 PM
Love the THOR figure... haven't seen the hammer spin before, so obvious & so great!

@Pandab0mb if there is a need, fill it! Open up a store... if you do what you enjoy for a living, you never have to work a day in your life!

Posted by: ThatGuy on 9/2/2013 8:05:12 PM
Somone needs to open a hobby/collectibles store out here where i live. this is the 2nd event i'm missing out on.

Posted by: Pandab0mb on 9/2/2013 3:51:24 PM
This event looks better than Fear Itself IMO; too bad I don't play OP anymore. Hope everyone enjoys this AvX event!!!

Posted by: rwint1968 on 9/2/2013 3:27:24 PM
Wow, what a funny coincidence. I been recently re-reading my set of A vs. X comics and here we are getting a set of them! I'm upset that this is an Organized Play Event. Due to the fact that I'm the only person that orders Heroclix from my local comic shop in the whole city. Just like Fear Itself, I'm gonna miss out on the awesomeness. :(

Posted by: Ho1ocau5t on 9/2/2013 2:50:29 PM
I was hoping for a white and blue suite angle, or another attempt at Gambit (maybe around 100 points with a special EE), but these sculpts look so nice I can't even complain and to be honest I even want the dice and action tokens . I'm just hoping the dials look as nice as the sculpts to justify paying 40 dollars apiece. And I'm really hoping at least half the figs get indom (mags and Cyclops for sure).
