Batman #2 (The New 52)After the dreadful Batman #1, it was my hope that things would get better with Batman #2. The good news is that it did get better. The bad news is that it was barely better than the first issue. As a matter of fact, it's like saying Weekend at Bernies 2 is better than the first Weekend at Bernies movie.

Note: I read Batman #1 and immediately wrote it's review, before reading Batman #2, which allowed me to stay objective and review them seperately.

We start out with one of those present day images, where Bruce Wayne (not Batman) is sent flying out the window of a high rise building. As he falls towards his death, we flash back to 24 hours earlier. You know it's going to be a snooze fest when they have to rely on that.

Back in the past, we find a group of kidnappers trying to get away in a helicopter. The helicopter is damages so it can't go very fast, so what do the bonehead villains do? They hover 10-feet and follow a set of railroad tracks. What? Really? You're in the city trying to get away in a helicopter, and so you decide to fly at ground level? Really?

Batman #2 Well, unfortunately for the robbers, Batman is hot on their trails. Thanks to his Bat-motorcycle, Batman is able to break all the laws of physics and zoom on smoothly on the railroad tracks. Note that I didn't say the rails, I said the tracks.
Seriously, what motorcycle can possibly do that?

Needless to say, this pointless distraction to the main story lasts a measly 3 pages, but it's enough to already doubt that issue 2 is going to be any better than issue 1.

I agree with Rtc2i. I too, did feel like I was reading the same review twice. Secondly, Why so critical? I get this is a comic review but come on. I read both issues 1 & 2 and I found them fine. Third, who cares if batman has the bat-computer installed in his contact lenses? That doesn't make him lazy, it just makes him more efficient. I think this is one review you have gotten wrong.

With your primary issue being the lack of originality, I find it funny that your critique of the issue is the definition of unoriginal. In fact, reading both of your reviews back to back is like reading the exact same review twice.
There are so few original stories left to tell-- this goes double for comics. Good story tellers aren't simply tasked with making up something brand new; they are tasked with telling us the story well. Snyder creates a parallel story in each issue that adds to the lore, adds to the atmosphere of the story, and gives us a chance to piece parts of this story together ourselves. You nitpick the small errors that are Prevelant in all comics; then you magnify these problems to the point of absurdity. It ruins your credibility and, judging by the general backlash in the comments, turns away your readers.

Same comment from your issue number 1 review:
Thank you.
I know now to NEVER read your reviews again after reading your Batman number 1 and number 2 reviews. They were amazing issues, and your reviews of both issue were horrible, I'd give them an F.

This is now 2011. Being the playboy billionaire, Bruce Wayne should have high-tech gadgets as the Batman. Also, you shouldn't be concerned about the laws of physics. For one thing, either his motorcycle is very high tech, or they weren't able to properly display him bumping along (who really cares about it). It seems that you're just critical of Batman in general. -_- I was hoping for a good review, but if you're going to hate on Batman, at least say that you don't like Batman comics to begin with. :(

Really? You're concerned over the laws of physics in a comicbook? Really?

I'll agree with the fact that the hologram of the body is kinda dumb, considering it shouldnt be able to give you the same view being in the room with it would, but using that kind of technology doesn't make him lazy, it means he is being more efficient and cautious (or trying, anyway).

At this point in the DCnU do we know what Batman's relationship with anyone in the GCPD other than Gordon is? He is probably not wanting to deal with run-ins with random officers, and also being AT the computer would save him travel time to and from the morgue. Maybe they'll elaborate more in further issues; maybe the idea didnt work how they wanted here and they'll give up on it. Who knows.

And why are you so hard on Bruce dedicated pages?
