The Quintessential Winter Soldier HeroClix Dial
The Quintessential Winter Soldier comes in at 120 or 130 points, with just a minor difference: The team ability!

The Quintessential Series presents the ideal HeroClix dials we'd like Wizkids to make!

Dial by Eric Schaen (continued below)

The Quintessential Winter Soldier HeroClix Dial

The Quintessential Captain AmericaAt 120 points you get a stealthy assassin with a mediocre range of just 6. But stick him in hindering with Stealth, and just take shots and he gets a whopping +3 bonus to range! That's how assassins work you know.

Right: The Quintessential Captain America HeroClix dial!

But the Quintessential Winter Solder is also good on the move with 2 clicks of Running Shot and 2 clicks of Charge. With a combination of , Blades/Claws/Fangs, and Flurry, the Quintessential Winter Soldier is good for ranged or melee, making him an excellent secondary attacker on any force!

Best of all, Winter Soldier has the S.H.I.E.L.D. Team Ability, making him very versatile in today's modern age games!

What do you think?

Your Comments:
What this dial needs is some perplex/outwit love on the top dial, Tie 2 clixs of outwit onto his Special "I'm taking the shot" would justify the 120/130 point cost. Then he would be a spectacular secondary attacker

I was really happy with the Winter soldier dials we got in the Nick Fury set. This one works well, he is a little pricey. but I think he is still worth it.

@MantisWarrior: The cost to "add a TA" is kind of a fine line. If you make it too cheap, people will always use it, all the time. If you make it too expensive, people won't use it at all. To add the cost of the Hydra TA in to this dial, we simply added around 10% of the original cost of the dial -- that's how we came up with "130 points".

I love the idea of buying in a team ability. We have seen buy-in ATAs in several sets but never actual TAs to the best of my knowledge. This idea would solve so many issues with those characters who seem to crop up everywhere (hi Wolverine) and need varying TAs. 10 points is a bit steep imho but the idea is awesome. WizKids take note please. Aside from that, I like the solid and flavourful dial

It's always bugged me that he has Improved Targeting: Ignores Hindering Terrain, since obviously he is only able to achieve that through the use of something with an infrared sight that requires him to sit still and use it effectively (I'm assuming as I'm not a weapons expert nor a Winter Soldier expert so please correct me if I'm wrong). It would have been better to include it as part of the "I'm Taking the Shot" Special Power instead.

Another missed opportunity is to have included an extra click of life with his 130 option that starts with Stealth to symbolize him being a Hydra agent (sleeper?) working from the shadows.

The Bionic Arm Trait is great, and I love the power combination, great job!
