Alfred Chase HeroClix#13 Bring Back Collectibility
This one comes from freelance writer Dr. Faustin:

WizKids needs to recognize the "Collectibility" of this game. Not everyone should have all of the pieces in a set available to them for under $20.00 within 2 weeks of a release. Good pieces need to be hard to obtain and should propel the average Heroclix player to impulse buy a booster a month after the set comes out just in case they 'pull a Magneto'.

Smaller sets, higher production numbers, and fewer juicy SRs leads to buyer apathy and fatigue too soon after a set comes out to do anything but stick retailers with unsellable product gathering dust on their shelves. Also increase chase rarity to one Chase per Case or increase the number of chases back to 10 like in the DC75th set. Make it hard to collect them all.

#14 Less Apps Apps Apps
Why is it that everything has an App? I understand the power of the Android and iPhone, and I understand that apps have helped make Facebook a powerhouse in the industry, but does there really need to be an app for EVERYTHING?

Seriously, why does THE GAP need an App? It's not like the App's going to let you try on jeans in your car.

Mortal Kombat is infinitely better than Street Fighter.

did a gay man write this?

Tron would be a great set, now that we have vehicle rules.

Posted by: unknown player on 8/18/2012 12:20:35 PM
if you think mortal kombat is a bad game than i hate you, but back on subject, i would love to see mortal kombat heroclix be made, i love collecting mini games of all sorts and i would absalutly LOVE mortal kombat heroclix!!! i would bye them everyday and any day for any price!!!

Posted by: alex on 2/16/2012 12:48:49 PM
Vehicles-Yes
Mortal Kombat-YES(terrible game? Are you high?)
Horrorclix-Yes(agreed batman vs predator, superman vs predator-heroclix is based off of comics so why not be accurate??)
Make this an even MORE EXPENSIVE hobby? what is wrong with you? Why should be impossible to have all pieces from a set? if people are guaranteed whole sets (at least CUR) from a case that's more incentive to buy
BETTER QUALITY CONTROL!!!!!!!!!!!! How disappointing is it to open a booster and the paint and sculpt look horrible-eyes on chin? really?
Is this site really going to ramble on about non heroclix subjects?
AND MAKE AN ACCURATE BATMAN!! Seriously there is only a few batmans that can hang in there going against meta humans/mutants/cosmic beings, etc. Batman is the smartest, most bad a** human in the comic world-in the comics he can hold his own better then half the "super" peeps. 2 damage is crap even with perplex should be 3 all the way and 11 attack if not 12 at the beginning since he KNOWS HIS ENEMIES' WEAK SPOTS

Posted by: JoeKaR on 1/30/2012 12:53:11 PM
My theory behind vehicles is simple-most of them in comics are functional without a driver. The Batmobile could be like any other heroclix piece. It can drive itself and fight by itself. It should just have the added functionality of being able to hold characters, and specific characters would improve it's usefulness. The Batmobile is fully functional on it's own, but it does better with Batman and Robin in it. However, how many times have you seen Batman put someone in the car to protect them? They can't use it's systems, so they don't improve it's function, but they are protected from harm (unless you blew it up). How many times has the Batmobile made a difference in a battle for Batman? Pretty frequently. So instead of vehicles like Thor's chariot that suppose the character is in the vehicle (and can never get out), just make it so the vehicles are separate. I believe Ghost Rider can 'call' his motorcycle to him; Wonder Woman never seems to have a problem finding her jet; heck, even a regular motorcycle, just have a trait that says 'This vehicle cannot be given an action unless it is currently carrying a character.' This isn't different much from the Colossals that have numerous traits, and it's not more complicated-really it's just a modification of the carry and transporter rules. Do it wizkids! You want more of my money!

My Top 20 Part 3

12) Bring back the website option to be able to look for requirements on characters to help with Team building for tournaments.
13) More variety of characters – Seriously How many Wolverines, Spiderman, Hulks, Superman, Batman options do you need?
14) Discontinue the convention only Prizes or at least make them available for purchase the following year. Same dials just different set icon would be fine with me. A lot of Players can not afford to attend the Conventions to gain these prizes and it just results in an inflated secondary market price.
15) In Tournaments (EX: Infinity Gauntlet) be limited to either that set or that license. There is no reason a Superman should be showing in an Infinity Gauntlet Tournament.
16) Return of HorrorClix and a new Indy set (this time don’t give everyone low Def, Toughness and Blades/Claws/Fangs)
17) An Official Forum and Official Rules Arbitrator(s) - Since HCRealms has never been officially recognized By Wizkids as there rules Arbitrator this would be a nice change. Having a committee over one would make it for a more balance ruling rather than a arbitrary ruling of one person
18) Listen to what the players want as far as characters/feats made.
19) Quite saying that all SR/Chases have the same availability. You are not fooling anyone. In the Hulk set out of the 30 Hulked Out Heroes pulled, I have seen 1 Wolverage show his face.
20) Wizkids invest in a dictionary or learn how to use Spell check – There is too many errors on the character cards (Ex : Weekness on Cosmic Hulk) Look up the definition of “AND” “OR” “MAY” and the use of a comma

Posted by: Sir Christopher on 1/23/2012 2:27:08 PM
I love the Fantastic Car idea. It could be given out as a 4 part Tournament prize. If wizkids gave 10 to 12 of each part they could be attached to a peanut shaped base. Each part cost 5 points. Give the characters flight. starts as one piece that Could be split into 4(place the part on the character card. Give the characters flight as a free action may use runshot at half range. can take 2 damage be for distroyed. if distroyed an on a non-flying characters card the character take falling damage. May be removed from a card and placed on the board as a free action. Becomes hindering terrain on the board. May be used by ANy other character that is given a move action that ends on the spot it is on.

Posted by: Sir Christopher on 1/22/2012 2:55:50 PM
Don't be ripping the Night Nurse

Her +1 to defence for ATTEMPTING to Support someone is Kool. I love her attempting to heal a Sentinel in hindering terrain and giving him a 20 Def with no perplex that can be outwitted.

"Irony is a cold mistress"

My Top 20 Part 2

7) Discontinue Incompatible sets to be used with Heroclix – The Star Trek set is a Joke. The ships should be the size of the entire map, if not larger, not the size of Franklin Richards. Having a Klingon ship hide behind the hindering terrain of a Manhole cover is just wrong. Funny, but just wrong. The Lord of the Rings set should not have been labeled as compatible either. I am fine with the sets being made using the same format but they should be as their own game.
8) Bring back the arch enemies and have them apply to any set (Superman and Lex Luther should never be on the same team. If the judge wants to run a tournament allowing (DC vs. Street Fighter) this they can)
9) Wizkids hire someone that actually reads comics to make sure the characters they are creating have powers that they should have (Ex: Superman with Mind Control, Deadman that takes clicks for using his powers, Kryptonite that effects Humans {How is Metallo effected by Kryptonite anymore than he is? The guy has Kryptonite in his chest!} and Kryptonite that does not do what it should do {Face it - green Kryptonite should take away all powers of a Kryptonian in a radius and could be carried}. I was excited with the announcement of the coming out of Kryptonite and then depressed when I saw what they did. I think that if I want to commit the points to my build to place a 3D object that affects a limited group of people I should be able to. If my opponent does not play a team that it affects I effectively shorted my build by that much. My loss.)
10) Wizkids actually have a group of play testers/editors to play test the pieces BEFORE they send them to print.
11) Bring back the Old Website options that you can see what venues are offering tournaments on what days. Also bring back the Figure Gallery on the web site and include ALL figures not just Modern Age
12) Bring back the website option to be able to look for requirements on characters to help with Team building for tour

Posted by: Sir Christopher on 1/22/2012 1:35:40 PM
Also, yes to vehicles! But give them the ability to hold a certain number of characters and special effects when holding certain named characters. For example:
Fantastic Car: this vehicle can carry up to four characters. If the characters have any of the following names, Fantastic Car gets the effect related:
Mr Fantastic: +1 speed
Invisible Woman: + 1 defense
Thing: +1 attack
Human Torch: +1 damage
When this vehicle is KO'd, place hindering terrain in the spaces it occupied. Any characters that were being carried by this vehicle are placed adjacent and dealt 2 penetrating damage

Posted by: mbZero on 1/19/2012 9:49:43 PM
Trait: Fatality: when this character is given a close or ranged combat action, you may give it an additional action token. If you do, and the targeted character is KO'd, after actions resolve remove all action tokens from this character.
I thought the 1 vs 1 rules were a fun diversion, even though I thought Bison and Akuma were too powerful; wish they were closer in point value to the vet Ryu or Ken so you could do an 'arcade style' play. I thought about setting up a booth at a local clix for the cure event where you paid to play just such a scenario. I would really love a mortal Kombat set! My #1 not DC/Marvel related figure!
Also, I really want a Vanisher to go along with all my new X-Force this year! I think him and Fantomex are the only ones missing.

Posted by: mbZero on 1/19/2012 9:37:26 PM
nice i like it but the only one i dont like is #13

Posted by: heroclix fan on 1/19/2012 3:59:09 PM
Fewer sets seconded thirded or wherever we're up to! I'd like a DC a marvel and one other licence per year (or perhaps better on a 3 month rotation)
I don't fully agree with making LEs and chases so very 'must have' yes they should be good for gloating purposes but not frustrating ( i still haven't got a magneto outside of the infinity challenge rookie
If i can add a wish it would be 'better support outside the USA'
And The Le I like the reference to other things outside of clix i get what you were trying to do there. Or are the trolls below being ironic? :)

Posted by: Mantis Warrior on 1/16/2012 9:21:50 AM
So, putting #13 and #15 together, I understand that you want to have less HeroClix made but people should buy more. I understand why the sellers would be happy about it, but as a buyer I find it ridiculous.

Not everyone is a collector. More sets is good for the people that don't want to buy every set made and would just wait for more than 6 months for a set that interested them. Overly rare characters is equally bad for those that buy small or moderate amount of Clix... it just keeps them from having some characters they might want.

Posted by: Elda King on 1/16/2012 8:06:11 AM
Vehicles would be great as a collector set. A SHIELD flying car, Batmobile (could be A few different versions) A generic police car(usable only by people that have the police team ability) The Haunted Tank (Ignores hindering Terrain for movement, Runs over objects and turns them to rubble markers, Can distroy hindering terrain at range and do splash damage on both sides of the wall or object.)

Posted by: Sir Christopher on 1/15/2012 2:52:10 PM
20 Top Things I want from Wizkids in 2012
1) Wizkids hire a Quality Control team to catch Grammatical errors – Look up the definition of “AND” “OR” “MAY” and the use of a Comma. Wizkids should be able to make a set that does not have an errata attached to it
2) Wizkids invest in a dictionary or learn how to use Spell check – There is too many errors on the character cards (Ex : Weekness on Cosmic Hulk)
3) Less Heroclix sets, more Heroclix figures – Some of us have a life other than playing Heroclix. Four set per year is too many. If one buys a Brick per set at the venue that is around $130.00 per set X 4 sets ($520.00 per year)
4) Redo the Sentinel rules. They should all have Super Strength, Indomitable and the Capture ability. It would be nice if that gave them a die roll chance of detecting a “mutant” and the ignoring hindering terrain for targeting purposes (detecting the mutant gene). A stealth based mutant team would destroy a Sentinel team as long as they were able to keep in stealth. The Sentinels should be feared when showing up, Not laughed at.
5) Discontinue the Fast Forces and Gravity feeds – It is just another way to get players moneys and usually ½ of the characters never see the board. Also not all venues carry the Fast Forces and Gravity feeds. They should at least not put out a separate dial for each or go back to Collector Sets. Just how many different General Thunderbolt Rosses does one player need?
6) Team builder packs (Grunts packs of 4) How many people got 7 of the Seven Deadly Brothers without buying them off the secondary market or 2 cases?
7) Discontinue Incompatible sets to be used with Heroclix – The Star Trek set is a Joke. The ships should be the size of the entire map, if not larger, not the size of Franklin Richards. Having a Klingon ship hide behind the hindering terrain of a Manhole cover is just wrong. Funny, but just wrong. The Lord of the Rings set should not have been labeled as compatible either. I am fine with the sets

Posted by: Sir Christopher on 1/15/2012 2:02:06 PM
Much of this list was irrelevant to me as the non-combat pop culture stuff can easily be ignored if you choose what to watch and avoid programming.

#1 - I disagree. I was pleased to see THE BURGLAR. I was pleased to get Gleek. And I am currently irritating my girlfriend with Night Nurse. I liked getting Major Talbot as well. I prefer the newer LEs to the old way of having 20 variants that were boring.

#4 - Will never happen. Cross-licensing is not a realistic suggestion. Amalgam should be first if I'm wrong.

#Horrorclix - This is easy. They just need to release some Horror-themed boosters as a HeroClix set or pack. I have that Jason fig you showed ready to chop the head off of a hobbit on my shelf, so I'm down.

#19 - Yes, we got Street Fighter clix due to Marvel vs Capcom, so we can use Mortal Kombat clix.

BRING BACK COLLECTABILITY! AND NO MORE PRINT N' PLAY!

Posted by: Owlman166 on 1/13/2012 11:32:29 AM
your #13 is beyond stupid, figures should never be impossible to find/buy for anyone one if I want a black lantern team it shouldn't cost me three bricks worth of heroclix to make it.

Posted by: Kraig on 1/12/2012 9:04:22 PM
Maybe im not as internet savy as I could be.. But how come there isnt an official heroclix site where people could suggest NEW characters that havent been made, and others could vote.. And im not talking about what DC did where we were allowed to vote on 1 character out of 6.. And they were all remakes anyway..

Posted by: E-Rock26 on 1/12/2012 4:34:21 PM
I'll second point #6!

Posted by: MEsch on 1/12/2012 3:19:45 PM
15- Strongly agree!
13- Strongly DISAGREE- I couldn't afford the chases when they were more rare- I just got Lois Lane from Origin for Christmas
10- What is with the negativity towards other players anyways? Remember when that dude blasted me after I posted the location of the GL gravities? It's like- Damn, buddy, who peed in your coffee? That being said, I don't care what Wizkids does with their site, this one's better

Posted by: licensedhero on 1/11/2012 7:01:29 PM
For 2012 it looks like Heroclix World will be bringing us... fewer Heroclix articles and previews?

First there was no new content for the entire first WEEK of 2012 (missing the previews of Thor, Blastaar and multiple Star Trek ships), then came 2 comic book reviews, and now we have a Top 20 list with only 11 things directly related to Heroclix.

Give us more Heroclix! At least give us custom scenarios or mods or designer interviews or... SOMETHING besides comments about Glee, Snookie and the Kardashians!

Posted by: Wombatboy on 1/11/2012 6:48:44 PM
Some thoughts on above points
#3 -no, no more vehicles
#4 X-over duos from more than 1 universe, not gonna happen
#5 Glee s-u-c-k-s sucks
#6 eh, doesn't really bother me
#9 Agreed
#10 Just another eh here
#11 Valid point here
#12 Why, we have Special Powers in the Modern age to do this
#13 Make it so!
#16 Bleeeech.
#20 Sounds good, also while we're at it fix transporters so they either shoot full range or don't take the -2 penalty

Posted by: ajsprint on 1/11/2012 1:11:14 PM
I have no clue what the purpose of the Top 20 list was. Except to try to copy the humor of cracked magazine, you just forgot to add the actual humor. Things I'd like to see in Heroclix in 2012.
•Thundercats Heroclix
•Making maps easier to get.
•More Image Comics Clix: Invincible, Spawn, Savage Dragon
•WILDCATS heroclix.
•A good Batman With the JLA team ability
•Stop Shrinking the Hulk.
•Update Alpha Flight.
•Stop changing the current Abilities. You guys at Wizkids are like George Lucas with the constant "Tweaking" of the rules.
•Please fix the Wizkids site. Meaning, make it usable, You all know what I mean.
•Make Pixar Incredibles clix.

I slso want to take a moment to thank Wizkids for making Heroclix fun and a game of Quality again. I truly appreciate it.

Posted by: G.Pelletier on 1/11/2012 11:39:53 AM
I agree with alot of these commments. But I also agree with you in no more snookie and no more kardasians. But about heroclix which I thought originally this article was going to be about. Here is my comments on some of your thoughts.

1. Better LEs, We never need anymore generic LEs made. I would rather have a hero/villain LE then any generic. The generic LEs are worthless.

2. Official forum, While it sounds good I dont ever see them going back to one. Neca/Wizkids is very happy with the unoffical one with all the rules deputies running it. I'm sure everyone know what it is.

3. Less sets/More figures, I dont ever see it happening. Neca is content to put out as much product as they can and even make chases easy to pick up anymore. It makes it more worthwild to pick up multiple bricks and know that you going to get a chase figure in each of them. I do think this plan of theirs to do they is a way to stop secondary markets from selling a single piece for $150 and up. I cannot complain about it since it made me getting all of the Superman chases easier for me. They have cut the set size to make more sets to help line there pockets with more money. But since they are going to stay with the smaller sets, they need to garentee a full CUR set with each case.

My hopes for 2012.

1. Hoping that 6 colossus per set (Galacic Guardians) in a one and done attempt. While I like this set doing it, I hope they dont do it again. Once was enough. My wallet is running scared already at the though of trying to get all 6 of them.

2. Hoping that both of the Avengers sets and the DC releases of Justice league/52 set along with both Batman sets released later this year are fantastic.

3. Looking forward to finding out what the DC version of the Gauntlet events is going to be.

4. Hoping we get a Balrog, Gandalf the White, Arwen, Lady Galadriel and Lord Elrond in the next LOTR set.

Posted by: Nightwing-fan on 1/11/2012 11:29:29 AM
If Mage Knight could do it, why not. Plus you could always tell the difference between a square and a circle.

Posted by: Josh spangler on 1/11/2012 11:18:12 AM
I definately agree that Horrorclix needs to make a return. It was one of my favorite tabletop games; I actually used to buy a lot more Horrorclix than Heroclix (largely due to my love of horror movie-type characters and the fact that Horrorclix was largely made up of generics.)

However, I really feel that the new Horrorclix should be 100% compatible with Heroclix (possibly with an optional ruleset for including victims and other things like that.) I felt that the non-compatibility between Heroclix and the original Horrorclix was the only real problem with an otherwise great game. If Batman can fight Predators in the comics why can't I have them fight it out in my Heroclix battles?

Posted by: charlemagne on 1/11/2012 11:17:09 AM
There are 11 Wizkids/HeroClix related items in this list... 12 if you include the wish for less internet trolling.

Posted by: The Le on 1/11/2012 10:56:46 AM
Ok so your top 20 what exactly was Heroclix related? There was some good things out of your rambling....MY TOP 5

1. I agree we NEED better L.E.'s more like GSX...I think Karma sucked the rest was good...
2. Mortal Kombat(This is a D.C./W.B. property)... YES but lets really expand on that! Tekken, TMNT.
3. BETTER BRICK FIGS!!!! Stop with the generics. For instance...Avengers should have aaahhh Oh Nick Fury. Not some agent smith??? I like that "Web" had spider man. HATED the sculpt and the DIAL but like that it was SPIDER MAN!
4. HOW about re-release the old maps in MAP PACKS like the Outdoor pack or in door pack. With maybe newer graphics, and re-released 3D objects...lanterns, anvil????
5. MORE STUFF LIKE THIS Infinity Gauntlet. I want to play for the "big" figs. Thanos..... How about MORE.... L.E. Galactus?????

No Mater what happens in 2012.... THANK YOU WIZKIDS! Keep up the good work!
Just saying.....Oh your top 20 SUCKED!Rambling World.com???It sounds BETTER....

Seriously? WTF is this? HeroclixWorld is talking about Snooki and Glee on their Top 20 things for 2012? Outside of even a sketchy list of 2012 wishes in the first place (new standard powers! Snore.) you wasted my time with dialogue on things people are NOT coming to this site for. Also Limited Edition does not mean people should want them, it literally means less available. I know you had "no trolling" as one if your wishes but this is a really low quality article. My wish is that this site gets back to being a quality source of Heroclix news and information like it ince was for 2012.
