Drax and Dr. Strange HeroClix Online

Playing Drax
Drax appears to be meant to play very much like the character he is in the comics, aggressively. Make use of his Charge and Exploit Weakness powers to deal damage to characters that have damage reducing powers. Don’t be afraid to get him into the fray quickly, but watch out for characters with ranged attack options. Employ teammates who can carry Drax or use Telekinesis to position him. Once in close combat, if Drax gets hit, depending on how much damage he takes, he will have different options to work with. When hit for 2-3 clix of damage he becomes a menacing tie-up piece. If he is hit for more damage he will gain Leap/Climb, which you can use to get him out of danger if need be.

Galactic Guardians Gravity Feed Drax DialCombating Drax
Like many brick style characters, Drax is very susceptible to ranged attacks. Hitting Drax with Penetrating/Psychic Blast for 2-3 clix of damage is your best bet to put a hurting on him. Then he can be easily finished off with another ranged combat attack. If range is not an option, simply get to him before he can get to you. Hitting Drax for big amounts of damage will cause him to pass up some of his best clix. Heavy hitters carrying objects are good for using this tactic.

Conclusion
This version of Drax is a great choice for a secondary attacker on your team. He’s not the powerhouse the core sets version is. Nonetheless, his low cost and team friendly keywords grant the experienced version more versatility. He is well worth the 75 points.

That’s all for now, see you next time players!

@ Dr. Silly,

I didn't click on the image so I didn't realize you could view the external portion of the dial. My mistake. However since this is the gravity feed version there still hope that the main set version might have the Defenders TA.

@ Phep

Dont see any TA on his dial, why would you hope for it? As for the dial. I like it.

Finally! Drax is in the house. The Guardians of the Galaxy (new version of the team) needed a close combat beatstick and this is what the doctored ordered. Hopefully he'll have the Defenders TA as well to help with the average DV.

I approve of the Blades/Exploit Weakness combo for Drax. I would like to see that comboed with Flurry as well on a couple of clicks for perhaps the Veteran version.

Thanos will still destroy Drax though which stinks. I don't think his defensive stats and abilities are good enough. What does he have that can counter a ranged attacker that is firing off 4+ clicks of damage with 11+ to Attack?

I like him, for his points he will be a good tie up figure that can dish it out.
