The Quintessential Punisher HeroClix DialI remember when I bought my first Punisher Comic book -- it was issue #1 of the ongoing series where the Publisher was holding a bazooka outside of an apartment window. The punisher's always been the ideal anti-hero of the Marvel universe, and we've seen some good versions of him in HeroClix form over the years, but today we present The Quintessential Punisher.

The Quintessential series discusses just one character and presents the "ideal" HeroClix dial for that character.

The Quintessential Punisher, if anything is a versatile combatant full of modern weapons. This is reflected in his Grenade Launcher and War on Crime, which can give him Penetrating/Psychic Blast, Precision Strike, extra range, extra damage, or any other slew of things that his weapons can do.

Note: The Grenade/Grenade Pool mechanic is a real Heroclix mechanic, mostly seen in Halo HeroClix and Gears of War HeroClix.

The Quintessential Punisher HeroClix Dial

His stats make him hold up very well in a HeroClix game but it's not overpowered -- after all, Frank Castle is ultimately just a regular human who wears a bullet proof vest. Some Outwit, Toughness, Blades/Claws/Fangs, Running Shot, and Sidestep help round out The Quintessential Punisher. He's great on teams or as a lone gunman.

I agree with Kragnorak. This is my favourite Quintessential min so far.

This is the best Quintessential dial I've seen!

He's extremely mobile with Running Shot combined with Guerrilla Warfare, and I love the idea that when he's out of ammo he starts skulking about with Sidestep and a combat knife.

As a matter of fact, the only change I'd make would be to put Sidestep on the first two clicks, calling it "Setting up the Shot" on the card, and then put the white movement power on the last 2 clicks and call it Covert Ops or something.

This is a comic accurate, game playable dial. Love the arsenal power. The stats are balanced. Clix hand out Indom like free candy, they shouldn't do the same with 12atk. That should be reserved for your stellar level pieces or niche marksmen like your Bullseyes & Longshots.

This is a great dial. Some of these trolls are or they aren't reading the p.owers correctly

Willpower on half of the dial for over 100 pts is totally unacceptable without a 12 atk. Every ranged support over the last 2 years puts this guy to shame. Remember Chaos War Hawkeye? http://heroclix.com/heroclix/the-sharpshooting-avenger-hawkeye/#axzz3PqYnAJAq

I really like this dial and think it captures the Punisher I have been reading over the years. Could he have indomitable? Sure. But you could say that about most any hero. If he had no willpower at all it would be an issue. willpower over 1/2 the dial is certainly acceptable.

Nice job guys!

Only SOME willpower?!?! Ultimately, he's just a regular human that wears a vest?!?!
First of all, Frank Castle should be indomitable. Secondly, where's his stop click? If he's gonna be over 100 pts without a 12 on attack then he better have a stop click. How about HARD TO STOP. HARDER TO KILL- When this click is revealed due to damage from an opponents attack, stop turning the dial. Marvel's Batman needs more than 17 defense with toughness and 11 attack. . .cmon man!

I would love this Punisher if he ever got made. Grenades are one of those mechanics I never think about until I see it played. I think it's time that more "mainstream" get it. Kudos on the Battle tested power. Simple but very effective. I think Every Punisher dial needs some willpower

@GILLY25: Grenades were used mostly in the HALO HeroClix and Gears of War HeroClix sets. Basically you have single global "grenade pool" that all your characters can use. Most of these characters add grenades to the pool when the game starts, and they have specific abilities that lets you use those grenades. Check out Clix Beat: Kantus in our Strategy articles section to see one of the best grenade uses around.

That Punisher dial is pretty good. That is the only character I've seen with grenades.

Quintessential deadpool or venom please

Posted by: pooled on 1/22/2015 10:44:02 AM
You don't understand how much I'd want this. I'm so disappointed that they havn't continued the Grenade ability with some characters like him. The only thing I want to see added is Indomitable due to his commitment but I understand that may excel his points quite a bit.

I'd also love to see Wizkids make a vehicle click of his van with the ability to allow characters to be given a power action to take a special object. The special objects to be taken can only be an assortment of 3D weapons like a Sniper Rifle, Pistol, etc. This may be similar to constructs.
