Shield Team Pack Black Widow DialPlaying Black Widow
Black Widow strikes me as a harassment character with some bite. She should be very effective at getting around the battle map avoiding detection. When your team is in place and ready to go, move her in to base opposing character(s). She can hold her own in close combat but if things get too hot, permanent Leap/Climb via her trait will get her out of tight spots. Don’t forget to make use of her S.H.I.E.L.D. team ability, for extending her allies range or giving them a bonus to their damage dealt with ranged combat attacks.

Combating Black Widow
The way to take Black Widow down quickly is by using Stealth busting capabilities. Make use of any team abilities or powers that ignore Stealth. Don’t have any of those? Then use Charge, Telekinesis or Hypersonic Speed to hit her first. Her starting defense of 17 is good, but by no means is it an impossible number to hit. Be sure to hit her for at least 3 clix of damage when you land an attack. This will knock her off of her Stealth clix opening her up for a ranged combat attack. Deals another 2 or more damage and you will knock her out of the game.

Conclusion
For a low cost of just 35 points, what’s not to love about Black Widow? Sure, this rookie version may not pack the same punch as the other versions of Black Widow from the recent Captain America set. However, she is wonderful option at a more economical cost. I feel this character is going to take her place among other characters of the same cost like, Roulette, Speedy, and the Scarlet Witch.

Also available in the Shield Team Pack:: Shield Enforcer and Nick Fury

Perfect points to get a 500 pt Movie Avengers team:
150 GF Thor

035 TP Black Widow
----

I traded for this piece for that exact reason.

holy smokes! all of that for only 35 points?!... [old crotchedly voice] (greater than) "I remember when a rule of thumb for a 100-point figure was at least one click on 10 Attack..."

ACE - Thank you for the explanation. Now it gets more confusing where we have base, starter, gravity feed and now team sets. Sorry for whinning so much, but isn't this a bit much? Not only this but to have Galactic Guardians also coming out the same day. So the breakdown for AVM is 1-9 common, 10-17 uncommon, 18-22 rare and 23-36 team packs?

LOL @ Tai-bo as a martial art. What's next melt it off w/Mitch?

maneuver is usually wasted on a piece without a move and attack ability, which this lacks. outside of a casual game, this will be relegated to many a tacklebox until the end of time. If i want to use a sub 40 point piece with martial artist, ill always go for the question over this piece of commie trash.

I believe it was Happy who asked her if she ever boxed. When she said “yes” He said “Like what Tae bo, booty boot camp or something?”

So this is a nod to that moment.

What is this Eric? You say "she brings a tight little arse" full "of goodies to your teams"? WOW!

On a more serious note, why does she get CCE due to "Tai Bo"? What does that even mean? 'Supreme Staff'? Does she whip out a bo staff during the film using her tai chi training? Or did they misspell Tae Bo? If the latter, why would aerobic exercises give her extra damage? Is Suzanne Somers more dangerous than we thought?

That big of boobs for 35 points? I'm in!

Posted by: krizz on 2/16/2012 9:13:43 AM
@ Shawn its because there are no actual super rares, they come from the "team packs" 3 characters per team pack - shield, hydra, warriors 3,Avengers, etc. there are a total of 6 team packs so theres (12) figures I believe the base set minus team packs is 22 figures.

K, I'm way confused with the numbering. How come #'s 23,24,26 & 27 all look like SR's and now we have #36 also showing SR? This is suppose to have over 40 new figures, but I cannot find the breakdown of C,NC,R & SR.

I guess she can be a cheap tie up piece or just an annoyance and shield ta. she is fine with me for 35 points
