Give this character a power action and move it up to its speed value. It adds 2 to its d6 roll when breaking away and can use. During its move, this character may, as a free action, make one close combat or ranged combat attack with its range value halved for the attack. This character must be in a square where it could legally end its move in order to make the attack.

•(Players Guide, 2014): All references to “Hypersonic Speed, Option 1” refer to the power Hypersonic Speed.
If the target character is defeated by the attack, it is removed from the board immediately and the attacking character can occupy that square.
The Hypersonic Speed character commits to the square from which the attack will be made prior to making the attack.
•(HeroClix Website 04-30-2013): Like Leap/Climb, Hypersonic Speed now requires a break away roll. And, like Leap/Climb, you get a +2 bonus to the break away. This means that your speedsters will now have to think long and hard about using Hypersonic Speed if it is adjacent to an opposing character; no longer can they zip around the map with little fear of impediment. Sure, a +2 bonus means that break away failure will be rare, but when it does happen, the action ends immediately and the character can’t even attack (much less run away). And with the changes to Plasticity, even if your speedster isn’t adjacent to an opposing character when it is given the power action to use Hypersonic Speed, it may still have to stop mid-action if you aren’t careful!
HeroClix World Notes
•This power requires the use of a Power Action. As such, it can't be combined with very many things.
•This power grants a free close combat attack or ranged combat attack. Note that it is an attack, not an action. So powers such as Exploit Weakness (EW) and Energy Explosion (EE) cannot be combined with this power, because EW and EE requires a close combat action and ranged combat action respectively.
•If your character is carrying an object, it can use it as part of the HSS close combat attack, but it can't use it to throw the object (because throwing an object requires a ranged combat action).
•If the target character is eliminated by the attack, it is removed from the board immediately and the attacking character can occupy that square.
•A flying Hypersonic Speed character can carry another figure while performing this action, however the carried character is "off the board" for the entire movement, including the portion of the movement when the attack takes place. As such, powers and team abilities of the carried character (like Probability Control, Enhancement, etc.) cannot be used during the movement.
•The Hypersonic Speed character commits to the square from which the attack will be made prior to making the attack. If the attack becomes illegal (e.g., Shape Change, Skrulls, etc.), the attack can be made against a different target, though a different square cannot be selected.
