Usagi Yojimbo - Usagi & Spot
Usagi Yojimbo is one of my favorite comic books. It’s well written, very well illustrated, and simply a lot of fun. Miyamoto Usagi is the main character, who became a ronin when his Lord was slain in the battlefield. Along his adventures as a ronin, he befriended a tokage lizard named Spot. Spot eventually left to join Zato Ino (the blind pig), and died some time later.
It’s a sad but sweet story, and I recommend anyone reading this to pick up a copy from your local store. My favorite issue had almost no dialog in it. Usagi was kind to a bunch of tokage lizards early in the story, was ambushed later, but then was saved by those same lizards. It ended with Usagi buying lunch for all the lizards.
