Usagi Yojimbo - Jotaro & Sanshobo
Jotaro starts out as a very minor character since he is the son of Usagi’s former love interest. Later in the series we find out that Jotaro is actual Usagi’s son! Following his true fathers footsteps, Jotaro hooks up with Usagi’s old mentor Katsuichi. At some point, Joraro took a break from training and took to Usagi’s side, but that’s about when I stopped reading unfortunately.
This is also about the time that we were introduced to Sanshobo, an old warrior turned priest. Originally a samurai, Sanshobo was was escorting his feudal lord’s son, when the boy slipped on the mountain pass and fell to his death. To save face and honor, Sanshobo’s only son did what was asked of him and intentionally jumped off the mountain to his own death. Sanshobo resigned after that and became a monk.
Honor. What a stupid concept.
