The Le: When did you first start modding in general, and when did you first start HeroClix modding?
Goldeeh: I started modding, in general, with Heroclix. It was way back in 2005. I am a HUGE Green Lantern fan, and my favorite GL has always been Kyle Rayner. My first attempt, naturally, was of Kyle. I love his original costume, and back then only GL John Stewart and GL Hal Jordan were represented in Heroclix.
Having no artistic background or experience whatsoever in scultping or customizing anything, I had no idea what materials or tools to use, but decided to go for it anyway using Sculpey and a tool for sculpting creamics. Not until I found out about Warhammer minis (around early 2008) did I learn about greenstuff and other tools for modding. I also learned to paint through a Warhammer 40K book called "How to Paint Space Marines".
From Wikipedia: Sculpey (often misspelled as Sculpy) is the brand name for a type of polymer clay that can be molded and put into a conventional oven to harden, as opposed to typical modeling clays, which require a much hotter oven, such as a kiln. Until it is baked, Sculpey has a consistency somewhat like Plasticine. It is sold in many colors, though it can also be painted once fired. It has become popular with modeling artists. It is also sometimes used for claymation.
You can see many more custom images at Goldeeh's website. That's also the best place to contact him for commissions. Please consider leaving comments below.
