The Le: So do you still play 40k? Do you have a favorite race?

Goldeeh: If you mean the videogames (Dawn of War and Dawn of War 2), then yes. If you mean the miniatures game, I actually have NEVER played it!

I've heard about the tabletop game from friends, but never really got to see actual figs in person until I walked into this gaming store here in San Diego to buy HEROCLIX. Turns out, the store was a Games Workshop distributor and had tons of Warhammer stuff. They have two huge glass cases with painted figs in it, and I got so excited that I bought a box of Space Marines right away. I liked the concept of building my own figure, posing them however I liked, and painting them myself. Actually, I really hated painting the figures at first. I had basic painting skills as I had modded Heroclix before (with Sculpey and Reaper Paint), but after seeing the painted figs in the display case, I knew I had a long way to go with my painting. That's when I decided to buy the "How to Paint Space Marines" book.

As for my favorite race, I actually have several. I started with Space Marines, then I started getting into Eldar (I practiced painting mostly on Eldar Guardians). From 40K, I switched to Warhammer Fantasy and started buying mounted figures/kits (Brettonian Knights (human), Imperial Knights (human), Silver Helms (Elves), and Cold One Knights(Dark Elves). Sadly, out of all the Warhammer Fantasy kits I mentioned, I have only completed/painted one Silver Helm and one Imperial Knight. The rest are still on sprues!
