Awesome Clix: Thor
Today we kick off a brand new series for 2015 called Awesome Clix. This series focuses on just one Golden Age character that's aged so well that it can (and should) be used in modern games. There's literally thousands of HeroClix figures out there, many of them have probably never been used in your games -- why not?

We kick off Awesome Clix with the Avengers Movie Thor.

Coming in at 200 points, he's a primary attacker for your 300 point games, and his stats show it. Flight, Running Shot, and Charge gives him a great amount of mobility and an excellent range of 8 with the lets him hit almost anyone for 5 damage on his first attack!

HeroClix Thor Dial - Marvel Avengers

While Thor's defense drops a bit in the end (and so does his damage), he's got staying power with all that Invulnerability and Impervious. And if you can get him in those middle clicks, Thor's Pulse Wave is insanely powerful with that range.

As I said, Thor's a primary attacker at 200 points, but that left-over 100 points gives you lots of options to fill out your team. Some Support and Probability Control will probably help keep Thor in the fight for the entire game. With his ability to deal out high amounts of damage, I'm not sure Outwit is necessary for your team, but again, you've got lots of options available with those leftover 100 points.

Congrats Thor, you're this week's Awesome Clix!

How about the cosmic cube (12 points)?

What are people's thoughts on this asgardian 300pt team:
Thor (the one above) 200pts - tentpole
Loki (from the avengers team pack) 80pts - Has decent stats and probability control.
Some kind of resource up to 20pts - probable a lantern battery with the green lantern ring. This would give willpower and some immunity to outwitting for thor.

I've used this character many times, he's always done well.

Great article series idea The Le. With the derth of previews these days it will be nice to see some reminder reviews. I have so many suggestions for this series my brain is exploding!
As for Thor, that's a nice dial. The 9AV looks scary until you see the CCE or RCE on those clix. 16DV rear dial is the only real downer in near clix perfection. Sadly (for me) this is one of 5 figs from this set I don't own. Oh well there's always ebay.

not bad

interesting. I know the Avengers movie figs are retired, thus making them Golden Age, but in general, it has to be pre oreo dial for me to think a piece is long gone. I'd be more interested articles about even older pieces, say pre-carded era that hold up.
