Shield Team Pack Black Widow Dial
(Click to see Black Widow Cards)

Powers and Abilities
Aptly, Black Widow’s standard powers are very Spy-oriented starting with Stealth. When combined with her trait she can become an effective blocker for other characters. Combat Reflexes is the first defensive power on her dial. Increasing her defense in close combat by +2, this power also works well with Stealth making her even more effective in close combat. Natasha’s kick butt fighting skills are represented by Close Combat Expert. This works well in accord with her Combat Reflexes and Stealth powers. On her last couple of clix, she switches tactics with Flurry & Super Senses. Black Widow sports the S.H.I.E.L.D. Team Ability, making her an effective support character, increasing teammates range, or adding additional firepower for ranged attacks.

Feats
When playing in formats that don’t restrict the use of “Feat Cards”, here are my suggestions for making Black Widow as deadly as her namesake. If you want her to come out swinging and have the potential of an alpha strike, give her the Pounce feat. This will not only permit her to move in and attack with a +1 to her attack and damage values, it will also force her to push to her second clix, gaining Combat Reflexes making her a more challenging target to hit in close combat. She will also pick up Close Combat Expert, adding +2 to her damage in close combat, talk about synergy. At 15 points Pounce is a little pricy, but with her low cost it will only bring her total to 50 points.

Can’t spare the 15 points on a feat? No worries, try the Maneuver feat. This is another great option for Black Widow. Giving Natasha the ability to place opposing character(s) in any open adjacent space is useful in numerous ways. It’s a great way tool for deal with opposing character(s) that are using Stealth. Re-positioning them so your teammate’s can blast them with ranged combat attacks. At only 8 points it won’t break the bank either.

6 points can buy you another low-priced option, one of my personal favorites, Coordination. This Feat will enables characters that possess the same team ability to ignore Black Widow for line of fire purposes. An awesome way to have Ms. Romanoff pin an opponent down, and not get in the way of her fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. teammates shots.

Perfect points to get a 500 pt Movie Avengers team:
150 GF Thor
150 GF Iron Man
100 GF Cap
065 GF Hawkeye
035 TP Black Widow
----
500 points.

I traded for this piece for that exact reason.

holy smokes! all of that for only 35 points?!... [old crotchedly voice] (greater than) "I remember when a rule of thumb for a 100-point figure was at least one click on 10 Attack..."

ACE - Thank you for the explanation. Now it gets more confusing where we have base, starter, gravity feed and now team sets. Sorry for whinning so much, but isn't this a bit much? Not only this but to have Galactic Guardians also coming out the same day. So the breakdown for AVM is 1-9 common, 10-17 uncommon, 18-22 rare and 23-36 team packs?

LOL @ Tai-bo as a martial art. What's next melt it off w/Mitch?

Posted by: raid on 2/16/2012 9:40:28 AM
maneuver is usually wasted on a piece without a move and attack ability, which this lacks. outside of a casual game, this will be relegated to many a tacklebox until the end of time. If i want to use a sub 40 point piece with martial artist, ill always go for the question over this piece of commie trash.

I believe it was Happy who asked her if she ever boxed. When she said “yes” He said “Like what Tae bo, booty boot camp or something?”

So this is a nod to that moment.

What is this Eric? You say "she brings a tight little arse" full "of goodies to your teams"? WOW!

On a more serious note, why does she get CCE due to "Tai Bo"? What does that even mean? 'Supreme Staff'? Does she whip out a bo staff during the film using her tai chi training? Or did they misspell Tae Bo? If the latter, why would aerobic exercises give her extra damage? Is Suzanne Somers more dangerous than we thought?

That big of boobs for 35 points? I'm in!

Posted by: krizz on 2/16/2012 9:13:43 AM
@ Shawn its because there are no actual super rares, they come from the "team packs" 3 characters per team pack - shield, hydra, warriors 3,Avengers, etc. there are a total of 6 team packs so theres (12) figures I believe the base set minus team packs is 22 figures.

Posted by: Ace on 2/16/2012 9:04:52 AM
K, I'm way confused with the numbering. How come #'s 23,24,26 & 27 all look like SR's and now we have #36 also showing SR? This is suppose to have over 40 new figures, but I cannot find the breakdown of C,NC,R & SR.

I guess she can be a cheap tie up piece or just an annoyance and shield ta. she is fine with me for 35 points
