Watchmen Fast Forces Spoilers

Our coverage of the Watchmen HeroClix set concludes with our playtest review. We gathered five guys together and let them run wild on the Starro Water map. Here's what they had to say...

Joe: Just playtested Watchmen this weekend. Interesting characters. I like the Mask-killer; This character is a good piece when playing against higher priced pieces. He can use stealth and then he has outwit, which comes in very handy when your playing against ranged charcaters.

Moloch the Mystic an excellent figure if only because of his special power. To me, he should always be on your team because he's so useful.

HeroClix Special PowerCOMPELLING COMMAND: Moloch the Mystic can use Leadership; when a friendly character uses an action gained through Moloch the Mystic's Leadership, they can use Willpower until the action is resolved.

All in all the pieces are very good against lower priced characters and but probably wouldn't hold up very well against Hammer of Thor pieces (except perhaps the 276-point Dr. Manhattan). Then again, there are many figures from many sets that wouldn't hold up against the Hammer of Thor.

The good Dr. reminds me of Nimrod w/ his bright color. I wonder if he's glow-in-the-dark!?

"However, they were quick to mention that this simply meant the Watchmen set was very comic accurate since that particular universe didn't have many "super powered" beings."

Well, yeah, that's a given. I was planning on using figures like AIM Agents or Hand Ninjas - obviously these guys will get creamed by costumes.

The Le,
Thanks for doing a play test review. This is what I was waiting for to see if I should drop the money to get one. As it stands I may wait a while with WoS, and DC 75th, and Brightest Day, coming out so close together.

Very much appreciate the honesty of the reviews. And many thanks to the play testers and of course Heroclix World. It's apparent that this is no HOT set, but seems like a must have for fans simply for what it is... not to mention the awesome sculpts. Great job everyone! Still green lights here on acquiring the set :-)
