Gears of War 3 HeroClixOur friends at ICV2 have released new info on the Gears of War HeroClix, to be released on August 17th!

"The Gears of war HeroClix Figures are fully compatible with all other HeroClix figures, and are available in a 24-count, gravity-feed counter display."

Like the other Gravity Feed products, Gears of War HeroClix comes in a single 24-count display box. Each "booster" will feature just 1 figure for the price tag of $2.99. There will be 10 total figures in this set, which includes members of Delta Squad.

I got two words for you guys: HECK YEAH!

These 10 figures are:

Gears: Baird, Anya, Marcus Fenix, Dom, and the Cole Train himself!
Locust: Skorge, Kantus, Raam, Locust Drone, and a Mauler

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Cole Train in his Thrashball outfit as a chase figure. I can't wait to tell the Gears community about this!

Great concept but the artistic value is a little low. It seems to only be a loose model of the characters. Were the maufacturers drunk? Still, I love Gow!!!!

Posted by: That Guy on 8/30/2012 1:06:08 PM
I have gow 3 and my fav chariter is baird and i got him

Posted by: raley on 1/8/2012 8:47:58 AM
@Ricardo: The game came out a few months ago, so check with your local game shops to see if they can order it for you!

Posted by: The Le on 12/25/2011 10:50:16 AM
I am Interesting to buy this colleccion but I live In Queretaro Mexico would you send me information about price ???

Posted by: Ricardo Lozada on 12/25/2011 10:31:21 AM
not a huge fan of the set I picked up 2 boosters

Posted by: bp29 on 11/2/2011 5:32:46 AM
not to nit pick but Gears of War characters are technically DC Comic Characters as well as video game characters and I am totally excited i have each character more than 2x each cuz some figures are better quality as far as paint and stuff go

Posted by: JIMMY on 9/23/2011 12:28:29 AM
i just bought 10 of this and now have all 10 hero clix im so excited how lucky was i

Posted by: will on 8/26/2011 8:05:03 PM
@Erik: Nope, you got the correct RAAM. Gears of War Figures have access to different grenades.

Posted by: The Le on 8/24/2011 9:23:55 PM
My wife just popped a RAAM with a silver ring around his base, but does not have access to smoke grenades. I guess there are chase figures in the GOW set too then?

Posted by: Erik on 8/24/2011 7:15:36 PM
RAAM has 151 point value and has every type of grenade! i would rather have skorge though, he is my fav character.

Posted by: alex on 8/21/2011 1:48:41 PM
HOLY COW, I JUST WENT TO THE STORE AND GOT TWO NEW GEARS OF WAR HEROCLIX, AND I GOT RAAM!!! and baird, but baird isnt that great.

BUT I GOT RAAM!!!

Posted by: alex on 8/21/2011 1:45:04 PM
i want skorge, he's my fav character.

Posted by: alex on 8/20/2011 11:24:20 PM
wow! This fig is awesome! The best part is I've never seen such a massive support combo on a fig this cheap. I want it!

Posted by: bgreyloc on 8/6/2011 9:16:45 AM
I wanna get Raam as well. I bet he'll be the most powerful figure in the set. I don't think even Marcus will be more than 100 points.

Posted by: Spider-Man 071 on 8/5/2011 9:55:27 AM
I love RAAM! Gotta get me a GoW GF now!

Posted by: lancelot on 8/4/2011 7:48:48 AM
The figures are so cool, and I love the grenade feature.

Posted by: marvelironman on 8/4/2011 6:26:55 AM
I have to say I have never played the video game. The paint jobs are ok. But the Grenade ability is going to be fun against some Stealth figures. Am I thrilled with the this set, not really. But will I get it yes. I will get it to help support the game over all. And hopefully there will be other franchises coming to Heroclix form. Like for me of the fighting games I would hope Tekken gets a nod and comes out in HC form. As for shooter games, sorry I gotta go old school and say DOOM has always been my favorite. So if buying this set means other video game and anime HC sets come out. I will get this.

Posted by: SeekerMuadib on 8/2/2011 5:04:35 PM
I'm not crazy about this grenade mechanic. The thing about throwing grenades in first-person shooters is... it's fun! If your timing is not right, the grenade will bounce and miss. Sometimes you will blow yourself up!

I would much rather have seen a fun misfire chart to balance the grenades against those characters that already have Energy Explosion. I would love to see the grenade scatter 1d3 squares in a random direction if it misses. If the fun ideas are too "complex" in an already complex game, then at least the grenades should Critical Miss on a 2 OR 3.

Now that I have typed this, I think these will be home rules for me:

1) If the grenade misses EVERY target, then it scatters 1d3 squares in a random direction and the same Attack roll is compared to the defense of every figure in range. (Note that the chances of hurting someone are fairly low as a high roll would have hit the targets.)

2) If a Critical Miss is rolled in the Attack, center the explosion on the Attacker and roll again to hit - SHWOOPS!!!

3) Any objects caught in the blast range are reduced to Hindering Terrain.

4) Any walls caught in the blast range are reduced to rubble and Hindering Terrain markers are placed where they once stood.

Posted by: Kragnorak on 8/2/2011 9:57:24 AM
Grenades are added to the "master pool" at the beginning of the game for all team members to use. So even though the Mauler doesn't actually add a grenade to the "master pool", he can take grenades out of it to use himself.

Posted by: The Le on 8/2/2011 8:50:27 AM
maulers have frag ability, but no grenades....?

Posted by: sparkdemon on 8/2/2011 8:45:05 AM
Looks like the mauler also gets a new combat symbol... for a melee weapon it seems hmmm...

Posted by: Borgy on 7/24/2011 10:51:23 AM
Sweet! We got new TA's!!!!

Posted by: Lord Logan on 7/24/2011 7:08:51 AM
the locusts arent bad but the gears have a terrible paint job and their armor isnt even the same colour

Posted by: StockyNacho man on 5/29/2011 10:35:25 AM
Seriously, look at these pre-painted (I use that term loosely mind you) minis, then look at the minis for the up coming Fantasy Flight Games Gears of War board game and tell me you still think these minis look 'neat'. If you are going to make a table top game based of a game which has the notoriety of Gears of always being ahead of its time in terms of visuals, at least give the job of creating miniatures to someone who isn't 11 years old with play-do. No justice is given with these minis what so ever. The body's are out of proportion compared to the games (they are beefed up, super warriors, not rakes with guns) and then there is the paints job... my freakin god, if you are going to supply pre painted miniatures, don't leave it with someone that would rather sniff the paint than actually paint with it.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but it looks like a company taking a well known game franchise and pushing out 3rd rate minis made of cheap plastic and painted by drunken monkeys just to make a quick profit.

I'm a fan of Heroclix as a collector and player. I can't help but think these look pretty cool honestly. I've never played Gears of War, though I probably will now, but really those things look kinda neat. They're are bunches of comic book heroclixs being made still. GSX not all that long ago, and some Capt America, Green lant, and Superman announced. Seriously I love comics to death and all, but video games rock too...I'm seeing no lack of awesomeness in this.

Posted by: Bobby on 5/6/2011 1:20:20 PM
I liked the HALO release in that it produced some nice looking high tech soldier figures. So I picked up a few of them for that reason alone. I look forward to getting similar result from Gears of War.

Posted by: Nechevo on 5/2/2011 8:00:27 PM
man it would be amazing seeing a soul caliburclix set or god of war

Posted by: ??? on 4/29/2011 1:50:48 PM
I'm happy to see clix of other things such as video games. It isn't going to replace the Marvel and DC sets. But it will add a little variety to the game. I am loving the GOW3 Beta right now. Running so much smoother than the previous games. And there is a fun Wildstorm comic series based on Gears of War. I look forward to pick up a Cole Train clix to beat some punk@$$ villains and then seating back with Gears of War 3. Shame people are complaining about the Street Fighter and GOW sets. You guys don't have to buy them. Or maybe they don't realize that.

Posted by: Emmara on 4/28/2011 7:14:47 PM
@JasonCR: I agree with you there. Even though Heroclix is drifting away from it's comic roots, but I still want to see some other influences in it. To top it off, if you wanted to get REALLY technical, there is a comic series for both GOW and Street Fighter.

Posted by: The Blue Hope on 4/28/2011 8:24:18 AM
Looks like someone there is thinking about something beyond H E R O, so I would bet that the name will be changed to just... CLIX!!! eventually!!! Because that was cool when it was only comics. But now (at least for me) it is kind of weird for me keep calling it HEROCLIX if I'm playing with Ryu or one of those Gears of War!

Posted by: JasonCR on 4/28/2011 8:12:02 AM
@ The Yellow Fear: I can understand your irritation, my friend, but think about it this way, this will likely get new players into our venue. Hell, it may even spur Mr. Butter to start legitimately playing. He seemed to enjoy his gung-ho soilder team, and this only feeds into that. I don't see the issue with these "mini sets" so long as thet full fledged sets don't suffer a la clownshoes

Posted by: The Blue Hope on 4/28/2011 8:11:52 AM
As a clix player (and a new one to boot) I'm...Meh...about this set. They better be low points...for a couple of guys with guns...

As a gamer? This only makes me want to see better games on Clix...Megaman, Mortal Kombat, Final Fantasy! Yeah Gears of War is cool...but there is so much better...

Posted by: Albert on 4/28/2011 5:23:03 AM
my god. i was totally on board with the street fighter clix, but come on. They need to start revealing the next comic clix, seriously.

Posted by: The Yellow Fear on 4/27/2011 1:45:53 PM
wow this looks like crap in a hat lol

Posted by: bonez555666 on 4/27/2011 1:41:04 PM
My Clix dream team is just growing larger... First it was the old Akuma/Eddie(Iron Maiden Clix)/Spider-Man team. Now I need to work Raam and Skorge into a team. Dreams do come true. Now if only we can get some Resident Evil or Tekken Clix...

Posted by: The Blue Hope on 4/27/2011 8:20:10 AM
Wow, I don't even care if these suck. Call me a fanboy but I'm super excited to pit Marcus, Dom, Baird and the Cole Train against say the Fan4 or other super teams.

Posted by: MacDavid on 4/27/2011 7:22:02 AM
Ive always wondered how cool it would be have some GOW heroclix! theyre not as detailed as I would have preferred....... also, with star trek, street fighter, and now gears, I hope upcoming heroclix sets dont suffer due to these "mini"sets....

Posted by: clownshoes on 4/26/2011 11:08:19 PM
I remember Halo and Horror clix.
they are so lame and both perished.
and yet another clix apears...
well, i will not spend my money on this.

Posted by: Doho on 4/26/2011 10:29:09 PM
@Tony: From ICV2 -- "The Gears of war HeroClix Figures are fully compatible with all other HeroClix figures, and are available in a 24-count, gravity-feed counter display. "

Posted by: The Le on 4/26/2011 8:39:19 PM
Are thease fully compatible with the regular Heroclix?
