Wizkids was kind enough to send HeroClix World a special sneak peek at the Marvel HeroClix Galactic Gardians GRAVITY FEED! We'll be previewing these excellent figures in the coming weeks, so buckle up and enjoy the show!

Today we're kicking off the previews with the excellent NAMOR!.

( Click To See Larger Version of Namor)

For 100 Points, Namor packs a good punch, able to deal 3-4 damage and 2 wonderful clicks of Invulnerability. This gives him some goood early clicks, making him very potent. Charge and Flurry makes him good at closing in on the opponent -- he's clearly built for close combat.

It's very important to note that Namor is first and foremost a flyer, which will come in handy with Charge, since he can "move through squares adjacent to and occupied by opposing characters". Not to mention being able to carry. That being said, we finally have a way to give both flight and Swim, thanks to this handy dandy Trait:

HeroClix Namor CardPrince of Atlantis: Namor can use the Swim ability. When Namor occupies water terrain; modify his speed and defense values by +1.

Great trait, but even better once combined with his Special Power:
Drag to the Depths: When Namor occupies water terrain, if he hits a character that can't use the Swim ability with an attack, after actions resolve give that character an action token and place them in any square adjacent to Namor.

While these two abilites are great, they're really just icing on a great 100-point cake. It's always difficult to choose a dolphin/Swim character for your force because all those Swim benefits are lost if you're on a map without enough water. But here, we have a well designed 100-point figure that works well on any map, and if there just happens to be water then that's a huge bonus!

Oh, and did we forget to mention that he sports the X-Men Team Ability? Oh yes... oh yes...

Coming Thursday: The 128-Point Hulk... with a surprising Team Ability!

Your Comments:
Nova Corps Denarian: An interesting addition to the Corps' pool of Through The Worldmind Traits, on his own he's exciting, but as part of the right force this could be fun. That little extra possibility of protection, however slim, could not only be a lifesaver but could thrown an opponent off if one makes that 6.

Posted by: Miraclo on 2/7/2012 10:35:12 AM
Silver Surfer - Never really a big fan of Phasing/Pulsewave combo. Rarely see the Pulsewave used as it usually requires a TK to get the character into possition. What the opponent usually does then is push his characters rather than take the 1 from the pulsewave.

Posted by: Sir Christopher on 2/2/2012 2:49:20 PM
there is a modern valkyrie

Posted by: morg on 2/2/2012 9:54:34 AM
Well, I am liking that the Gravity Feeds are being used to give us Rookie versions of the characters (as opposed to weak Experienced from Captain America and Hulk set). The Hulk of course is too weak, but New Warriors era Nova and Rookie Silver Surfer are much better.

Rookie Surfer is great because you can use him as a villain or a hero. Teaming him up with Galactus would be evil and unstoppable considering he could hide behind the big guy, hypersonic out when necessary, and then use Support to heal him! (You can use Support on Colossal figures, yes?)

Posted by: Kragnorak on 2/2/2012 9:37:17 AM
I find myself liking this Surfer. For the points he is pretty decent and I can think of a few teams I will be fielding him on. Having the Defenders keyword is good and the fact that I'm betting Namor, Hulk, and Dr. Strange all will have the keyword also will make a good classic Defender team. Now I would like to know, were is the modern age versions of Valkyrie, Hellcat, Nighthawk, and Damien Helstrom the Son of Satan heroclix at????

Posted by: Nightwing-fan on 2/2/2012 9:22:23 AM
Hmmm, I like it, i dont love it. I think keeping him on his first its a tough call between him and the sentinle of the skyways.

Posted by: SillyOne on 2/2/2012 9:17:18 AM
Not what I think of when I think Surfer but would not be the worst secondary attacker I have ever seen. I may find room for him on a team at some point.

Posted by: Japete61 on 2/2/2012 7:05:28 AM
Interesting alternate take on the Surfer.

Another angle to consider is that he meets the herald requirements (150 pts or less) for the new Galactus to choose as a Herald. Sure, he already has the Power Cosmic so that much is a waste, but look at his dial and increase each of his stats +1 to see what he'll look like in the service of Big G.

Thanks again for the previews!

Posted by: Miraclo on 2/2/2012 6:58:46 AM
Surfer is a little underwhelming but that is Power Cosmic for 150 with good reducers just that damage is so low for so long! Next weeks preview is DOOOOOOOOOOOMM!

Posted by: Victor Von Doom on 2/2/2012 5:57:29 AM
very disappointed with this hulk. Hopefully the non-gravity feed version will be way stronger

Posted by: wangchung on 1/31/2012 9:42:59 PM
U guys gotta remember this is the Nova from the gravity feed. The Nova coming out in the GG set will be different. Something to keep in mind

Posted by: geminimerc on 1/31/2012 9:19:27 AM
I like how all of the Nova Corps members support each other. Wish the GLs had been designed like this. I know some of the GF set did, but I think it'd be great if more did.

Posted by: lordoracle on 1/31/2012 8:42:45 AM
I like Nova's dial, but it is way underpowered for when Nova in Annihilation. In particular, where is the Gravimetric Pulse penetrating ranged attack? And his first click should have invulnerable, minimum. I'll play it, for sure, but the Supernova LE was way closer to the right power level, and it is underpowered.

Posted by: DaveZee on 1/31/2012 7:52:44 AM
ok... in nova's biography it mentions caps secret avengers but he doesn't have the avengers keyword??? lame... jus sayin...

Posted by: marcus on 1/31/2012 6:57:42 AM
@SympaGina

Uhhh...no. It's not a joke. Namor's been the X-books for a while now. He's with Cyclop's team.

Posted by: ChronoFett on 1/30/2012 12:15:04 PM
Wahouuu… namor is a x-men Now !!!!
it's a joke ????

Posted by: SympaGina on 1/30/2012 2:29:27 AM
charge and flurry is a great combo with namors dial

Posted by: bp29 on 1/28/2012 10:59:40 AM
I'm underwhelmed. So we've got what, 4 0r 5 mid-level Hulks in the last two sets? Lame.

Posted by: licensedhero on 1/27/2012 3:43:49 PM
Heard the main set one is 124/55 (as the Banner from the IH set AEs into him).

Posted by: Borgy on 1/27/2012 11:04:09 AM
I agree, they relly need to make a hulk that's at least 300 points,i mean haven't any of them seen hulk beat the crap out of just about any super hero?

Posted by: no on 1/27/2012 3:54:51 AM
For the points it's reasonable... The image is great, but disappointed, I was hoping to see the 300 or even 500 pt. Incredible Hulk in this set.

Posted by: Ianator on 1/27/2012 2:29:57 AM
I'm going to reserve final judgement on the GG gravity hulk until I see the one in the main set. At the very least this one can use the Defenders TA and also has the keywords to be used with the Avengers & Defenders themed teams. Plus it has indomitable too.

Posted by: phep on 1/26/2012 8:31:08 PM
have the guys who design these Hulks ever read a comic?

Posted by: webslinger14 on 1/26/2012 2:27:41 PM
I'm still holding out some hope for a better Hulk in the main set since this Hulk is a rookie. However, for the points this hulk is not bad but I agree with El Bastardo and Sir Christopher that we need a 300+ point hulk with super strength as a trait and also, I would think some battle fury and leap climb would be good traits for Hulk as well.

Posted by: Japete61 on 1/26/2012 2:17:40 PM
Oh look! It's disappointing hulk dial #1453! Yay!

I don't understand why superman gets great dials while hulk gets crap. We need a 300+ point hulk. Just take rampaging hulk and up his stats and clicks. How hard is that?

Posted by: El Bastardo on 1/26/2012 1:34:41 PM
Hulk - Only 2 clicks of Superstrength? The Hulk should have Superstrength as an ability. Not much of a peak for the Hulk. Was expecting a bit more on damage since the madder the Hulk gets the stronger the Hulk gets. Would have liked to see a leapclimb/quake combo and then the hindering terrain option. Perhaps that the hulk would HAVE to move at least 1 space to activate it.

Posted by: Sir Christopher on 1/26/2012 1:32:31 PM
I agree with sgtfury. This Hulk will get easily beaten up by the tiny Hulk dials that are already out, but psychologically it will not appear that way.

Also, In Mutations and Monsters we got the original Frankenstein looking Hulk costing about 150 points, so I don't think we should see even Rookie dials that are less than 150, unless they are Grey, Mr. Fixit or weak for some other reason. This fellow looks Experienced to me.

Posted by: Kragnorak on 1/26/2012 11:28:01 AM
Wow, he may be a bit under costed. Very good "Defenders era' version of the Hulk just a bit slower, hard hitting. I'll gladly drop my $2.99 (plus my stores pre-order discount) for this guy.

Posted by: Lofcutus on 1/26/2012 9:59:59 AM
why wasn't this sculpt in the hulk set and we got the weird looking tiny hulk and they used this sculpt for the robot hulk?

Posted by: sgtfury on 1/26/2012 9:17:48 AM
@WizardId: LOL. Well said.

Posted by: The Le on 1/26/2012 7:14:36 AM
The one in the main set will have Defenders Team Abiliy along with the rest of them.

Posted by: WizardId on 1/26/2012 7:02:16 AM
@Hair10 Well, he does have that Quake special power and CCE on that click. Also, he sports the Spider-Man TA. He just needs another Defender to copy from.

Posted by: Borgy on 1/26/2012 6:48:55 AM
How is Spiderman Team ability surprising... If he had you know Police Team I might have been surprised.

Posted by: WizardId on 1/26/2012 6:46:19 AM
keywords are good. This is a gravity feed preview. Gravity feeds are often not as powerful as characters in the main set, but they are cost efficent. For 128 he is not bad, not great, but not bad.

Posted by: slade on 1/26/2012 6:44:46 AM
I'm trying to take a measured approach in my reaction to this Hulk, but I have to admit I'm more disappointed than not. The Indomitable and Wildcard TA both fit, I appreciate the amount of Leap/Climb such that he won't so easily be hampered in movement, that he's able to deal at least 3 clicks of Damage at all times, and I recognize that this is very much a team-fit piece, but at this juncture it's not a delight. I'm also so sick of seeing late-dial, helpless-as-a-kitten, collect-your-victory-points-now, when-will-they-fix-this-power-so-it's-reliable?, naked Regeneration on powerhouse pieces.

It's a playable piece, yes, but I'm tired of seeing pieces I have to so rely on synergy with other pieces (and keep wanting to reach for Feats) with.

All that said, I'm sure I'll get use from the piece, and thanks again for the previews!

Posted by: Miraclo on 1/26/2012 6:41:43 AM
2 damage on Hulk when he's "Hulked up" (high attack, high DV)? Pathetic.

And no Defenders TA? WTF??!?

Posted by: hair10 on 1/26/2012 6:34:14 AM
I agree that this iteration of Namor, the Sub-Mariner, at 100 points, should not be a Veteran... That categorization seems careless by WizKids... other than that facet, it is not inaccurate and a pretty good economic powerhouse of a figure...

Posted by: MikeInMKE on 1/25/2012 8:39:28 AM
Maybe a hulk with defenders ta?

Posted by: japete61 on 1/25/2012 3:46:12 AM
"Coming Thursday: The 128-Point Hulk... with a surprising Team Ability!"

I'm guessing it's Spider-man TA... or maybe Minions of Doom? Hulk often gets used by baddies to be their tool against their arch-enemies.

Posted by: Borgy on 1/25/2012 1:49:24 AM
Awesome, thanks for posting The Le!

Posted by: Ianator on 1/24/2012 9:16:28 PM
I like the new Namor. He can fit nicely on X-Men teams without hogging points and he makes the illuminati team builds a bit cheaper so they can be played at lower point games.

Posted by: phep on 1/24/2012 7:32:19 PM
Also, I like the sculpt that they went with for Namor. Let's hope it turns out as good as the image.

Posted by: japete61 on 1/24/2012 6:16:20 PM
Very good take on Namor for only 100 points. I look forward to using him with many combinations! Fun fun fun!

Posted by: Lofcutus on 1/24/2012 3:07:17 PM
I wish I could've used him in Soul World (if you haven't seen it, the Infinity Gauntlet map has a nice-sized lake in the middle).

Posted by: Kragnorak on 1/24/2012 2:06:28 PM
Wow, great Namor for only 100 pts! I also think he should be a lot more powerful but for 100 points I think he is really good. Seems like he could work well as a tie up figure if you can find some water terrain.

Posted by: japete61 on 1/24/2012 1:11:08 PM
I do like figures for exactly 100 points. So easy on the maths!
I do feel that a 100 point version should really be a rookie though for Namor. I always feel he's stronger than this.
Love the water-specific trait and feats (the trait should be part of the dolphin ability in my opinion for all chars)and the sculpt (although more wonky eyed in the flesh as always) looks magnificently arrogant and imperial.

Posted by: Mantis Warrior on 1/24/2012 10:18:10 AM
Namor is looking a lot better than in Fantastic Forces (I hope the real paint job looks like that).

My problem with this figure is philosophical. It's Namor at 100 points. That is a Veteran. I would rather see a 100 point Rookie or Experienced Namor with the Invaders keyword or the Minions of Doom team ability.

Otherwise it just looks like he is weakening in his old age. Also, he has an actual X-Men outfit doesn't he? With an X belt buckle or something?

Posted by: Kragnorak on 1/24/2012 7:45:58 AM
"liter-minded" = literally-minded. I must have been distracted.

Posted by: Miraclo on 1/24/2012 6:55:55 AM
Interesting. I like many of the touches - including the TA, Trait, SP and keywords - and appreciate that they're trying to squeeze much into a 100 pt dial. On the other hand, over half of a supposed Veteran Namor with 2 Damage? The Super Strength doesn't do enough to mitigate that. However, it's an interesting, presumably lower-end alternate version to the one we'll see in the main set. He'll fit some teams well.

I'm looking forward to it -- and the remaining previews!

As for Thursday's Hulk, one surprising but functionally fitting TA would be Masters of Evil, but I'm not expecting them to go that far. It would be cool, though. There's also what I'd briefly hoped we might have seen in Incredible Hulk: Power Cosmic. Again, not for the (tiny) liter-minded, but definitely appropriate mechanics. We'll see Thursday!

Posted by: Miraclo on 1/24/2012 6:53:49 AM
Impervious Rex? I think not. All I see is Invulnerability.

Posted by: Gary on 1/24/2012 6:42:21 AM
Of course, if you click the picture (dufus) the entire card is revealed.

Posted by: sol on 1/24/2012 6:40:05 AM
No mention of keywords? For shame.

Posted by: sol on 1/24/2012 6:38:35 AM
