07-02-2013: The X-Men Gold Strike Force Team Base starts with JEAN GREY! Her Powers include Penetrating/Psychic Blast, Energy Shield/Deflection, Enhancement, Telekinesis, Mind Control, Force Blast, Support, and more!

There seems to be alot of discussions concerning the new the Jean Grey sculpt, above, vs the original Infinity Challenge version. So for comparison's sake.... her you go:

Jean Grey Infinity Challenge Version

From wikipedia: "Wolverine and the X-Men is a comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The title features Wolverine in his role as the headmaster of Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, the students of the school, and various members of the mutant superhero team, the X-Men. The initial issues of Wolverine and the X-Men mainly featured the Jean Grey School and its faculty and students. The main antagonist in the book was a new Hellfire Club made up of homicidal genius children, led by Kade Kilgore."

Instead of adding this to an old article, may I suggest a new article collecting information about the new OP program. We know the themes and individual names of characters for 4 to 6 of the upcoming new OP kits (each has 3 pieces which can go on an existing team base. 1 is a new sculpt, all have new dials).

Posted by: superfriend on 9/4/2014 9:04:37 AM
@ The Le: He does have move and attack top dial. He's a transporter. Still the nerfed 9AV will be nothing to write home about so I doubt that changes your opinion!

Nice to see a trait that allows new figs to go on old team bases. that will breathe new life into them post-nerf.

The anti-stealth power would have been amazing a few years back. These days with improved targetting it's still good but not essential. Probably worth the 65 points but unlikely to be top pick (DOFP for me!)

that is the interesting thing. 209 Jean Grey's card has the team base stuff on it. Which should mean this piece can be played with the team base. Better that it can be than the case of TT 204 Red Hood's card which does not have the team base stuff on it, at least implying he cannot be used with it.

I'm pretty sure the Jean Grey is from the Gravity Feed, not the Team Base...

The new sculpt looks fine to me, if anything it's just a nod back to the Infinity Challenge Sculpt.

Posted by: StevenStrange on 7/4/2013 12:39:13 AM
I like the new one. The first sculpt looks like mickey rourke with makeup on.

Posted by: Pandab0mb on 7/3/2013 5:47:55 PM
It's good to see a ( Jean Grey ) figure that's not the Phoenix who can be affective as an attacker .

I'm going to have to wait until I see the actual sculpt. Hate to admit it, but I don't entirely trust the digital sculpt pics...

Posted by: Bob on 7/3/2013 2:46:29 PM
I really like this custome! When think about Jean Grey, this is what she wears in my mind! This is the custome I like the most!

Posted by: JasonCR on 7/3/2013 1:27:45 PM
Hmm, her number is 209...does that mean there will be team base pieces in the CTD this time around? Will both the CTD and main set version be usable on the base?

Posted by: ursusveritas on 7/3/2013 12:43:47 PM
It's not the face or the sculpt that's the problem -- it's the costume. It was designed by Jim Lee and it's probably the ugliest X-Men costume ever (even uglier than the original sunfire). *shiver*

Posted by: The Le on 7/3/2013 12:36:39 PM
Haha Lance, I do know what you mean about her face. Luckily I have a couple that don't look hideous.

Posted by: Ho1ocau5t on 7/3/2013 11:47:55 AM
Good catch superfriend didn't notice her set number but i wonder how many of the Grav set figures will be this way? And that still leaves the main set Jean my guess will be more of a support piece and I'd love so see something as useful as SWitch from a Jean piece

Posted by: Predator on 7/3/2013 10:31:07 AM
Interesting that this is the Gravity Feed version (#2XX = GF) and it works with the team base. In Teen Titans, the GF version of Red Hood does not have the team base power on it.

Power on every space in every click. Looks well worth 100 points.

Posted by: superfriend on 7/3/2013 8:04:45 AM
The Infinity Challege Jean scupt is better? I own that piece and her face is huge and hideous! This sculpt will be much better. Don't get me wrong I respect your opinion., but im guessing you are thinking of a different Jean then play doh face.

Posted by: Lance on 7/3/2013 1:28:11 AM
Looks like a lot of fun to play. Never would have guessed this would be the kind of jean we got. Can't wait to see more of these. I've never been so pumped for a New set.

Posted by: Predator on 7/2/2013 10:34:24 PM
Finally, a Jeanie that can do more than help provide the alpha strike.

Posted by: Slade on 7/2/2013 7:45:54 PM
Wow, finally a Jean that packs a wallop! Kinda nice but I still like Infinity Challenge's sculpt.
