So here's a dumb question: I pulled a random Military Tank (not Haunted Tank) in a super booster. WHY is it unique? Does WizKids not want me to field 5 tanks against the Hulk?

A smaller question would be "Why is the Military Tank on autopilot much less points than a GCPD Cruiser?"

Posted by: Kragnorak on 12/8/2012 4:23:42 PM
Are vehicles considered collossals for LOF?
If not they should be.

Posted by: JB on 11/9/2012 3:26:18 PM
I thinks this tank is awesome! The whole idea of vehicles is awesome. It's easy to fall into a rutt with heroclix. I see some complaint on here. I love the creativity, and effort Wizkids is putting into the game for us true fans. There are so many things to try, and new reasons to keep playing. I like a little complexity in a simplistic game like heroclix.

I was really hoping to see the Abrams from the updated mini-series a few years. As a side note this should have had a single base figure that is the General on a horse to act as bonus.

@ ChronoFett
That is it's piloted abilities/stats. To use those, one of your other characters must be driving it for it to actually do something, otherwise it just sits there, so you're effectively adding the cost of the pilot to the vehicle if you expect to get much use out of it. To use all the extra dials on the Bug, the pilot needs to be BlueBeetle or BoosterGold, so it's limiting team construction a bit as well. Plus it wouldn't surprise me if they have a load of anti-vehicle stuff in the set.

I'm do confused on these vehicle rules, I just re started to play after a 6 year break and trying to get used to the new mechanics is hard enough to learn a new one.

Posted by: GLprime on 10/19/2012 1:26:34 PM
Sorry-just think this is a bad idea for the game. At least they were smart enough to make it unique. Vehicles needlessly complicate the game IMO.

Posted by: JB on 10/19/2012 12:18:49 PM
Can someone please explain something to me? I feel dumb for asking but I just don't get how these vehicles are costed....

The Bug has a point value of 139 piloted, which is decent, but the damn thing has 12 clicks of life with 7 of those clicks sporting a 17-16 Imperv! On top of that it can use it's "Hazardous Waste" ability to add an additional 5-11 clicks of life with Invul. and Toughn. Not even considering an attack value never dipping below 9-10 for 95% of the dial. 3-4 damage plus the ability to heal itself after every Move Action.

Then, just to be mean, give it 6 clicks of Hypersonic and I'm trying to figure out why this thing doesn't have a point value of 200+??

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?

@ Eagletsi
and on exactly what Team would Mordern Tanks fit in with a theme? WWII tanks at least hace character and will Fir in if your making a team for Sgt Rock and Easy Company. hell if you want to cross universes you can also use them for the Howling Commandos.

Posted by: Grim on 10/11/2012 5:53:01 PM
I hope they have the soldier keyword on the tanks. I'm very excited about using them in conjunction with Halo and GOW pieces.

Posted by: Highlander34 on 10/10/2012 6:25:56 AM
@Eagletsi as stephenwdavis stated the tanks are modeled after the Haunted Tank from DC's G.I. Combat comic book series. There were several versions of the M3 Stuart Tank the crew used during the comic's run. I'm guessing one of those versions in the picture will be based on the Jigsaw Tank.

Posted by: phep on 10/10/2012 12:19:50 AM
That's Haunted Tank from the comics, not just some random tank...

Posted by: stephenwdavis on 10/9/2012 10:16:10 PM
Those tanks are pathetic. They are WWII tanks, at least they should have made them modern. Jezz they really suck!

Posted by: Eagletsi on 10/9/2012 9:50:46 PM
@Kragnorak: go to the GenCon 2012 link on the sidebar and there is a pic of figures next to the Bug.

@JB: From what I have seen, the Bug's base is a 3x6 while the others are 2x4.

Posted by: lordoracle on 10/9/2012 11:29:11 AM
They need to finish off the rest of the Watchman figures, and now since they have vehicles, they can make Archie!!!

Posted by: Master Hill on 10/9/2012 9:19:32 AM
So... I'm dying to see how big the vehicles look next to the figures. I've been using vehicles as "ultra-heavy objects" since before that was an official term, and I usually use those little cars in the front of CVS and Rite Aid. Used to use Hot Wheels, but they were too teeny.

These might be worth modding if they don't look quite right...

An even dorkier problem I have is that I like to do refights of actual comic issues, so I catalogue appearances. Do you know how bad it is that I'm going to be anally counting cop cars so I have an excuse to buy a team that looks like the end of the "Blues Brothers"?!

Posted by: Kragnorak on 9/28/2012 2:17:50 PM
@JB , we have vehicles so that Hulk and Superman can bash Donald Blake in the face with a "wrecked" Police car . lol

Posted by: AVARICE HEROCLIX on 9/28/2012 10:48:04 AM
Vehicles..... JUST PLAIN ROCK!!!!

Posted by: Aqua7729 on 9/19/2012 7:54:43 PM
@JB We have vehicles for the same reason we have colossals: it's cool.

Posted by: hyperguy on 8/14/2012 8:46:03 PM
How big is the base? I also think it is undercosted and it's not a unique? Not sure why we really needed vehicles in HC???

Posted by: JB on 8/14/2012 10:48:39 AM
I'm a little underwhelmed with the dial, particularity the defense. Should be lower stats with plenty of damage reducers... I like the movement and attack capabilities, but the defense is all wrong.

Posted by: licensedhero on 8/13/2012 6:57:15 PM
while i would rather have something lookinf a lot less like a tank hybris at least it isnt as ugly as the one from the movies.

but what is the base size for these vehicles? looks like a 2x4 base to me.

Posted by: Grim on 8/13/2012 4:53:24 PM
I think the stealth mode is a combo of smoke screens and holographic imagining ala James Bond car.

Posted by: tikiphantom on 8/13/2012 3:40:39 PM
@ Kragnorak: That's gotta be a LOT of hindering to hide that bad-boy...

Just out of curiousity: did the sculpt incorporate a way to hold the "carried" passengers, or is is a lame "take-figure(s)-off-map,-place-on-vehicle-card" kinda thing?

Posted by: MEsch on 8/13/2012 11:49:42 AM
Batman TA - I don't remember the Batmobile being that stealthy just because it's radar-invis!
