@Gilly25, I disagree. I just played against 242-pt Iron Man and he is a beast. 270-pt Iron Man is if you want more defense than offense. It's a piece that will be dishing out constant 4 damage or so while barely taking any. They are both brutal.

For 270 points, I wish the Iron Man had 12 attack on the starting click.

Steve Rogers as part of the Nova Corps is pretty interesting and cool but I wish they would come up with a more original sculpt for these guys. SO far it has been that upward flight position or just standing on the base.

Mr. @Kaijuhero Here's DS's Hood:

Basically he is mix between a modern Robin Hood and a British Batman.

I see Immortus has the Council of Kangs keyword. Will they be doing some of the goofy Kangs?
As far as his powers go, I wish he had a trait that empowered Space Phantoms. Avengers Forever!
Finally, Immortus has been made twice now but I haven't been keeping up. Are they planning on releasing Rama Tut? It would be great if they had a promotion dial thing where you could promote from Tut to Immortus, etc.

@The 1 an only DEADPOOL: I know. You're just Deadpool "being Deadpool". No harm, and no need for banning or deleting. I have no problems with people having opinions on things -- I routinely "call out" comments of people who think my hate of Man of Steel is unjust. Again, it's just an opinion. Of course, I know that deep down, everyone knows Man of Steel is terrible. Dawn of Justice is looking like all sorts of sucky too...

@Squabbler: I monitor all comments that are posted on HeroClix World. As long as there are no personal attacks, gratuitous profanity, or things are getting out of hand, then I allow it through. While some of the comments here are "over the top" and incorrect, there is nothing I've seen that brings up a red flag to me. I tend not to ban opinions.
HeroClix World Comments are just that -- a little place for you to post your thoughts. It's not really designed to be a back-and-forth discussion forum (there are other sites made for that).

Immortus seems a bit underwhelming to me. No move and attack will make it hard to deliver that punch. I like SS and SC as protection but not on a 160 point figure with only 17D.
Also is not it me or will his double power action. Deactionificate the opposition as well!

I think is time you stopped talking and started listening. So much wrong information coming from you regarding the rules of this game I'm afraid someone might eventually start listening to your self made version of this game. Read through the entire rulebook at least one time, go through the latest PAC a couple of times. A lot ot small yet important rule changes the last couple of years. Finally, stop being a bully!

@the schmuck: then you sir are a cheap tactic hero click player. Which means you prolly try to run every team you make with a resource cramed on it! Yeah the real skill is playing without cheap TAs and all those key words to make theme team BS. yep a real click player relies in strategy not cheap tricks to win. I'm sure if I tabled you, I'd beat you to a pulp. Cause I'd be sure to play a low level game so you can't cram collosals or team bases or high cost dials with resources or relics. yeah and there is read between the line BS in this game ya shcmuck. So back off jag off! You can't keep your cheap mystics teams pumped full of relics and resources! I'll stick to good ole strategy. And guess what? I'd still come out on top! Toddles ya schmuck

I am loving the set list! A Manifold to complete my Secret Warriors team, a Ragnarok (Ok it's a prime I will never own but still glad he's been made) keep 'em coming!
Looks like we're getting an Avengers big-three just like the DC trinity in the last DC set. Less frustrating if they're all super-rares this time though as there are plenty of versions of the characters concerned in modern age anyway. Is there an easily available superman in modern age? I know the kids in the games club I run haven't one between them.
Posted by: MantisWarrior
on 4/26/2015 10:40:28 AM
@deadpool What are you talking about? What "read between the lines BS"? IGNORE and REDUCE are two different words, how is that reading between the lines? It's literally two different words that are on the ability. One says can't be REDUCED. It says nothing about IGNORING which is CLEARLY on another ability
And anyone who disagrees with you is a cheap player? That's kinda BS. I like some of the Thunderbolts. Why would I NOT pick their ATA? Why would I NOT pick the best ability to fit my scenario, even if it happens to be Mystics?
Posted by: XIII
on 4/24/2015 9:50:32 PM
@silversword: I'm talking about the "read between the lines BS" that's breaking there own game. making characters do things that break the rules but seem to work and is OP just like te 150 point convention exclusive Dr. Strange.. You can't say he's not broken.., his whole dial is powers and then his d20 has even more powers?!!! plus he's a broken mystics TA!!!! That's my point by "breaking their own game" the ones who disagree are the cheap players. Tat use a full team of mystics or power cosmics... That's the reality of this game...

To the remark about Wizkids killing their own game,I disagree. Everyone now days wants power. Look at MtG or YuGiOh. I remember a vanilla Blue Eyes at 3k attack was godlike, now it's nothing. Same for MtG, a 4/4 with flying for 6 mana was pure awesome, now its a 5/5 flying trample haste, some OP ability for 5 mana. It's the way game transform to keep the game fresh and new. I miss the old days sometimes to, but change has to happen to keep their player base

"This dial, although not super powerful, is definitely better than Man of Steel. Am I right guys or am I right?" -The Le, probably
Posted by: UhhitsJon
on 4/22/2015 1:40:44 PM
I like the PPB on the back end of the dial. If he gets smacked by a brick for 5 damage, he can at least retaliate and hit them back (sharpshooter as well).
Posted by: D
on 4/21/2015 6:41:06 AM
I really like the 12 attack for 104 points, but I wish the penetrating damage was earlier in the dial.
Posted by: Gilly25
on 4/21/2015 6:32:51 AM
Really glad we're getting a new ronin. I love the 'revert' power, really capture the "who's behind the mask" aspect of the character.
Trick shot looks solid too. Combat reflexes and RCE will be fun!
Posted by: MantisWarrior
on 4/21/2015 3:40:49 AM
So Truck Shot has FBI agent for his power but he doesn't have Spy keyword. Fail.
Posted by: Lord Logan
on 4/20/2015 5:50:34 PM
Wizkids is literally killing their own game.. With these read between the line rules... ugh I miss the good ole days when and 17 toughness was crazy hard to beat...
Posted by: Deadpool
on 4/20/2015 3:29:44 PM
@Deadpool: Invincible halves all damage, regardless of damage type (penetrating or non-penetrating). It doesn't reduce damage, it replaces it. So it doesn't matter if you deal 10 RCE damage or 10 Psychic Blast damage -- invincible would change both of them to just 5 damage.
Impervious/Toughness/Invulnerability is different -- that "reduces damage".
Note that Penetrating damage is defined as: "Penetrating damage is damage dealt that can’t be reduced (such as by the Toughness power), but can be evaded, ignored, increased, or transferred to another character."
Posted by: The Le
on 4/20/2015 12:09:59 PM
I also like that Trickshot!!!dang nice values and range for 104 points. not to keen about the trait but im gonna pick him up as well
Posted by: Bardock
on 4/20/2015 11:52:10 AM
So it still cuts through the defense of invincible?
Posted by: Deadpool
on 4/20/2015 11:47:07 AM
Note: This comes directly from the HeroClix website from Wizkids, 4-23-2013:
"Seemingly a very simple power, but with an interesting twist. Since Invincible doesn’t reduce damage, any power that deals penetrating damage (like Penetrating/Psychic Blast or Exploit Weakness) will still be affected by Invincible. "
Posted by: The Le
on 4/20/2015 11:44:49 AM
@Mantiswarrior: look in the penetrating damage power rule and tell me where it says damage form the attack has to be a reducing power? if it modifies the amount of damage taken in any way. it cuts through that defense power.
Posted by: Deadpool
on 4/20/2015 11:34:39 AM
Invincible - Mantis is right. You ignore half. And you always round up. If Damage dealt is 3, 1/2 of 3 is 1.5, rounds to 2, so you ignore 2 and take 1. If Damage dealt is 1, 1/2 of 1 is 1/2, rounded to 1, so you ignore 1 and take 0. And PB, EW have no effect on it.
Posted by: superfriend
on 4/20/2015 10:00:37 AM
@Deadpool I'm not sure you're right on that.
If you have Invincible you IGNORE half the damage not are DEALT half. That is an important distinction. If I take 1 damage I ignore 0.5 which rounds up to 1 so no damage is taken.
Similarly if I take three damage I ignore 1.5 which rounds up to 2 so only one damage is actually dealt to my Invincible figure.
Generally Invincible is always as good as Toughness usually as good as Invulnerable (unless you take exactly 2 damage!)and depending on your luck is better/worse than Invulnerable. (So for when 6 damage is suffered, you'd rather have the chance to reduce to 0, with my dice luck I prefer to ignore 3!!!)
The other thing of note is Psychic Blast/Exploit Weakness. These deal Penetrating Damage, which is a special kind of damage that cannot be REDUCED by powers like Toughness or Impervious. Invincible doesn't REDUCE, it IGNORES which (in heroclix linguistics at least) is a different thing, so Psychic Blast does not negate Invincible.
You are right that Pulse Wave flat-out ignores everything so it doesn't matter what your defensive power is! That's why we all love/hate Pulse Wave!
Please don't think I'm having a go at you Deadpool and the BLOCK CAPITALS aren't shouting, there just isn't an italics function. I'm guessing within your own gaming group you have always played as you describe, which is fine as everyone is playing by the same rules. Most others interpret the powers as I've outlined above though I believe. Of course I could be wrong! I was once... ;)
Posted by: MantisWarrior
on 4/20/2015 9:03:21 AM
@unknown: just for kicks and giggles here. When you said it keeps the "running shot P/PB Uusers at bay" you do know that P/PB : give this character a ranged combat action. Damage from the attack is penetrating damage: know what that means? It cuts through any defense that reduces or ignores damage. same goes with Exploit weakness but in close. And pulse wave. so no you seem to not know what you're talking about. Again I've playe this for years I know the rules and powers. If you hav been playing invincible where A) you're not rounding up the odd numbers for damage. B) not taking penetrating damage when invincible is showing and ignoring half damage instead. You sir need to be retrained with the power.
Posted by: Deadpool
on 4/19/2015 3:43:12 PM
I wonder if this set will have more figures for Avengers Team base
Posted by: Lord Logan
on 4/18/2015 2:45:38 PM
@unknown yeah bro I know the difference invincible reduces damage by half. And impervious ignores all damage on a 5-6 or minuses the damage taken by 2. Which means if I have impervious and I'm told to take 5 damage I can roll a d6 on the result of a 5-6 I ignore all damage on the result of a 1-4 damage is reduced by 2! So I'd take 3. Where as invincible is just half taken half of 5 is 2.5 rounded up to 3. So if I'm told to take 5 damage with invincible I have to take the 3 damage where as if I had impervious I could take a chance and ignore all damage. Now if I have invincible and I'm told to take 1 damage. Half of 1 is 0.5 which rounds to 1. No matter what you take 1 damage. And you get no chance to avoid it at all. And we are not talking bout precision strike or P/pb or exploit weakness here! I've been in this game for years I know how it's played. It's pretty basic math. So where you like to take 6 damage with invincible and then reduce it to 3! I I'm pretty sure being told to take 6 damage and having tht chance to roll for that 5-6 would be better so you don't take 4 damage. Class dismissed
Posted by: Deadpool
on 4/18/2015 10:10:12 AM
@Deadpool, you do know the difference between Invincible and Impervious right? Invincible "Ignores" half of the damage dealt, which does mean that a person with 2 damage can hit you for 1, but a person with 5 damage only hits for 2, and the best part is that penetrating damage and Precision Strike all follow the same rule. Impervious "reduces" damage, so while you can roll out and reduce it to 0, however, if someone with penetrating damage hits, no roll out and damage is not reduced at all and Precision Strike is a minimum 1 damage (cannot be reduced below 1).
I personally like invincible because it helps keep the big alpha strikers with high damage and super strength or running shot ppb at bay and gives you a chance to not get totally owned from one hit.

Posted by: Bardock
on 4/17/2015 1:14:53 PM
@highclops. A 18d with invincible is nothing and deffinatly not worth 150 points. I've seen pieces with an 18d with invincible under 140! No impervious is better than invincible. And if it's so obvious do the math. Invincible halves damage taken. so no matter what you still take 1. Impervious has a chance to completely avoid damage! Impervious is far better! and no just cause a trait lets other characters with the nova key word use empower is not to b compared to a sliver in any way there is no similarities either. I've seen pieces say the same thing but with the exception of different powers.. There's no difference.. Slivers. Gain abilities based on different slivers on the battle field I know this I play a sliver deck!! where as all the no as get is empower?! Ooo big deal empower...(rolls eyes) so yeah I know what I'm talking about...
Posted by: Deadpool
on 4/17/2015 1:10:46 PM
@Deadpool 18D w/ Invincible is worth more than you think. IM: Ignore Blocking is worth more as well. I can't believe this guy's under 150. Especially with top-click HSS too. Also, between all of the "Worldmind" powers, yeah, Nova corps are like Slivers. No they're not as good, but they're damn similar. And that review of Nova? Three sentences, with 2 of them being obvious s**t we can all see? You sure add a lot to this discussion, man.

@orion yeah I took tht in to consideration but if you look at nova primes dial and compare it to this nova they are almost the same and nova prime is only 120ish. They are almost identical but this one is more costly for his dial.. I dunno tho cause I've seen less expensive pieces that look like they should be at least 100 points..

@ Deadpool. For the cost, don't forget about the ATA released during Chaos War that lowers his cost 10 points if you aren't using the Worldmind Trait.

@Deadpool
It was merely a thought, not a d***. Don't take it so hard.

Now for my review. This nova is similar to super nova but has a few different powers. From galactic guardians but with invincible and more improved values. At 141 points I think he's a little pricey for his dial

How does this even remotely represent slivers from MTG??? cause other friendly nova characters can use empower? Ok what about halo grunts? +1 boosts or other characters that have already been given special boost that share a keyword gaining special powers? No dude this has nothing to do with slivers.. Battle sliver "all slivers get +2/+0. Striking sliver all slivers gain haste. bone scyth sliver all slivers gain first strike.. Nope nada not even close. it's just a reboot of past powers used by other figs not like slivers at all...

Decently good dial, but from the picture this is a terrible sculpt.
