Below is the HeroClix World Exclusive look at the Son of Jor-El dial and card. To the left is the original Character Card that comes with the figure, and to the right is the new Alternate Character Card for the same figure.

Right off the bat you'll notice that the Alternate Character Card has a special symbol at the top to let you know immediately what kind of card it is. Every Alternate Character Card have this symbol at the top of the card. There are three important parts to this section:

1) It increases the cost of the figure by 52 points
2) You must have this original Alternate Character Card in order to use it. You are not allowed to have a Print-and-Play version.
3) The Alternate Character Card actually replaces the original Character Card when you choose to use it.



As you can see there are three major "upgrades" from the original Character to the Alternate Character Card. First and foremost there's an additional keyword to the new card, for you folks who like that sort of thing.

The second upgrade is the Last Son of Krypton Special Power. On the original card he has a weakened version of Charge. But on the Alternate Character Card it's a full blown beast of an ability! He can now move (i.e. Charge) and then finish off this action with Flurry... not to mention the heavily modified Critical Hit value if you use the new double power action rules!

And finally the You Will Make My Strength Your Own ability goes from Super Strength, to Super Strength with a free light object (heavy if you used a double power action, which is a wicked combination with Last Son of Krypton)! Now, we're not exactly sure if it works with his Flurry, so expect clarification from the rules arbiter when this set comes out (or likely they will fix it before this set is released).

As you can see, Alternate Character Cards are an amazing new HeroClix mechanic that's going to be around for a long time. Seriously, who needs R-E-V when you have Alternate Character Cards?
