05-21-2012: Ra's Al Gul is here, and he's got quite a dial. Just a reminder that Leap/Climb is not fully compatible with Charge. At the end of Charge you can attack a character at a higher elevation, but that is the only compatibility you have. You cannot break away for free with Charge, nor can you do the other stuff that Leap/Climb gives you.

05-18-2012: We just picked up this image from Justin Ziran's twitter account. Looks like it's the box stuff for HeroClix. At first I wasn't so sure, but it's clearly using the same "10th Anniversary HeroClix Logo" we saw here.

HeroClix Dark Knight Rises Box

05-14-2012: A double dial today, featuring Harvey Dent and Two Face! The Dark Knight Rises set is  looking very good!

Harvey Dent may be a good character to throw on a Batman or Wildcard team, thanks to the Batman Ally TA, Probability Control, and Outwit. And Incapacitate too?!?! Weird.

HeroClix Harvey Dent Dark Knight Rises Dial Spoilers

Two-Face is where this Batman villain becomes really dangerous. His damage gets an increase, and he's got Indomitable! He may be just 65 points, but Super Senses, Probability Control, and a smattering of other powers makes him more dangerous that Robin, the Boy Wonder!

Your Comments:
@tailspin21: There are 2 sets of Dark Knight Rises figures -- one set that goes to comic/game shops, and one that goes to Target. Both sets use the same sculpts, but have different dials!

Posted by: The Le on 8/22/2012 6:36:27 PM
i have a question. the figures i have don't match the dials of these figures. any idea why (i think it may have something to do with the fact i got mine from target)

Posted by: tailspin21 on 8/22/2012 5:18:53 PM
Thanks for the info lordoracle.

Posted by: phep on 6/13/2012 10:40:22 PM
@phep;

Yes. However, from what I've been hearing, they didn't do chase figures this time.

Posted by: lordoracle on 6/12/2012 8:02:31 AM
So is there a CTD for B&M stores and a Target exclusive Gravity Feed for this set as well like the AVM one?

Posted by: phep on 6/4/2012 8:58:46 PM
Holy #%$* Batman!!! Falcone's Bodyguard can hurt Superman in close combat(must have Kryptonite Brass Knuckles).

Falcone can make for an interesting finese figure if you can somehow land him on his Probability clicks.

Posted by: phep on 6/4/2012 8:57:12 PM
Just saw a gravity feed at Target. Got a few to check them out, I got a Batman, Catwoman, Bank Robber Joker, a Clown Henchman, and Bane. I like the sculpts, don't know if the clix should be as under-powered. Hope, they get better as they go.

Posted by: Nido the Teacher on 6/3/2012 1:10:45 PM
A full dial of 1 damage for Master Wayne. Despite the cool sword not a single click of B/C/F? Useful for wildcard spam but apart from that I'll stay clear of this one.

Posted by: Mantis Warrior on 6/1/2012 6:23:49 AM
Ra's Al Ghul Interpose trait poses an interesting question. Say if a friendly character with shape change is adjacent to Ra is targeted by an opposing figure's close combat attack/action.

If the figure fails it's shape change roll then Ra MAY switch places with that figure right before the close combat attack/action occurs?

Does that invalidate the close combat action since the original target is no longer there or does the opposing figure still makes it's close combat attack/action but against Ra instead?

Posted by: phep on 5/23/2012 1:04:16 AM
Well at least the scuplts are different for Harvey Dent & Two Face so their should be no complaints about reused sclupt designs. ;)

Of the two I think I would prefer Harvey Dent. As a tie up piece he's pretty damn good at it with a possible 19 DV if based to 3 opposing adjacent figures, coupled with Probability Control in addition to range attack immunity if placed in hindering terrain makes him the proverbial thorn in the opposing player's side. Can't wait to field Smallville FF Superman with this guy.

Posted by: phep on 5/14/2012 10:17:42 PM
@ Sir Christopher ...THis would allow A poison, A free mind control attack and then an 2nd attack all for 1 action token...

I'm not sure about the 2nd attack, I mean it's possible but with 1 damage and an at best 9av I'd be inclined to use the action to run away or smoke cloud for better defence. I suppose top dial incap might be useful. Wish you could just TK him in for 3-7 free mind control attacks post poison against a swarm; that would be sweet. Silly game mechanics spoiling our fun!

Posted by: Mantis Warrior on 5/10/2012 9:12:36 AM
@SevenFeathers: WizKids seems to be sloppy when it comes to wording the team abilities on the cards. The Player's Guide will still control and the most recent Player's Guide still has the "unmodified" language.

@Sir Christopher: Nothing about the trait changes the free action only able to activate once rule. In most situations it's going to be a close combat MC which means single target and can only activate once.

Posted by: PassingBy on 5/1/2012 1:45:05 PM
Scarecrow Fear and Control. Intereasting Ability. THis would allow A poison, A free mind control attack and then an 2nd attack all for 1 action token. Depending on how many characters are poisoned depends on how many Free mindcontrol attacks he gets (technically he could have 8 free mindcontrol attacks). The key is hitting that st mind control attack. If the target has a movand attack ability you can use that and then decisde if Scarecrow wants to attack or retreat. Since Fear and Control is a free action He might be tuff to base up without resistant defences

Posted by: Sir Christopher on 4/30/2012 1:55:28 PM
I would like to point out the new wording on the Batman Enemy TA where it no lo ger says "Unmodified" Attack Value...y'alls thoughts? Hoyt

Posted by: SevenFeathers on 4/30/2012 11:25:39 AM
Seems like an accurate Scarecrow Dial. At 85pts he isn't going to be easy to play. You want to get close but that 16 defense with no powers is very easy to hit. If he can pull off a poison, MC, and then attack it will be worth it but it ain't going to be easy.

Posted by: Top10 on 4/30/2012 11:09:00 AM
Interesting set.
Love the riot cops (the see-through shield are one of the things that justify pre-painted mins to me).
Nice to see the underworld team outside of Watchmen

Posted by: annoyinglizardvoice on 4/26/2012 9:38:06 AM
I don't think that Invulnerability is that big of an issue with the new GCPD riot officers. It's only for 1 click and the figure itself can't do much with no range and only 2 damage so at best it's a 49 pts. tie-up peice that can force blast. Only dangerous to non-fliers on rooftops IMHO.

Posted by: phep on 4/24/2012 10:48:12 PM
Invulnerable seems a bit much for a plastic shield IMO. However I've loved the two dials on one fig mechanic since the CA gravity feed so I'm really glad to see it's return!
Gordon's special power should really help the PDs mobility when faced with a horde of Gotham Underworld TA, like the synergy there!

Posted by: MantisWarior on 4/24/2012 9:15:35 AM
it says within 8 squares not within range.

Posted by: x on 4/24/2012 2:15:19 AM
help wth understanding that coordinated assault special, dont it work wth range, but this guy has none.

Posted by: quigz on 4/24/2012 12:01:27 AM
there both a bit over priced.

Posted by: fart on 4/23/2012 12:50:29 PM
@Top10: Unlikely. The GCPD Trait requires the target character to POSSESS the Police TA.... Maxwell Lord let's adjacent friendlies USE the Police TA. POSSESS and USE are not the same.

Posted by: The Le on 4/23/2012 11:43:06 AM
Gordan and the Gotham Police get a pretty good upgrade here. Did not expect to see Invulnerable on the Gotham PD. Glad to see the dual dial system.
I like the Coordinated Assault Special power. Not having to have adjacency makes it soooo much easier to modify defense values.
Do you think this can be used with Maxwell Lords special power that grants adjacent figures the PD ability?

Posted by: Top10 on 4/23/2012 11:26:47 AM
Underworld minions unite!!!

This figure is crazy (like the Joker himself). He can act as his own mini-LAMP figure(minus posion though so I guess without it that only makes him "on the LAM"). ;-)

I know... I know... bad joke!!!

Posted by: phep on 4/17/2012 6:48:57 PM
Wow three team ability's and hes got a great dial all through it. can't wait for this set.

Posted by: Green Scar89 on 4/16/2012 2:54:19 PM
That's not PC, it's shape change. All his powers are "dark" blue. (Psychic Blast, Mastermind, Shape Change)

Posted by: Sancho on 4/16/2012 10:21:26 AM
he has shape change not prob. those are the dark blue abilities

Posted by: mmiller42 on 4/16/2012 10:17:41 AM
Shesh...whats with the Joker? Three TAs.....thats just wrong.........

the EE is named "Defending the Manor with a Shotgun"

Posted by: baron impossible on 4/10/2012 9:35:56 AM
lucius fox should have indomitable IMO

Posted by: big money all star on 4/9/2012 7:04:28 PM
Wow Alfred returns with a vengence! (I still have nightmares about the pog!). I'm fine with everything else but why does he have EE? I don't re-call Alfred tossing grenades in any of the Batman movies???

Lucius Fox is spot on though.

Posted by: phep on 4/9/2012 6:57:06 PM
@ Top10: Yes, you can use Brilliant Tactician on Lucius Fox.

Posted by: PassingBy on 4/9/2012 4:35:39 PM
Can you use Brilliant Tactician on Fox?
For 55 pts you can perplex all your scientists or Gotham City teammates.

I'm glad to see these movie characters. The set is going to be fun. Can't wait to see Bane and Catwoman.

Posted by: Top10 on 4/9/2012 1:44:11 PM
Alfred - Do not like the high combat values for Alfred. It makes him way too much of a frontline attacker than a support piece. Yes I see he omly does 1 click of damage until the last 2 clicks. But with the Perplex he can attack at an 11 or 2 damage. The 11 attack is higher than Bruce Wayne and The Dark Knioght from the same set? Shouldn'r Bruce (9 attack) be the sidekick(supoport) piece? At least he is not 30 some points

Posted by: Sir Christopher on 4/9/2012 1:28:10 PM
Lucius is another very nice support piece!! Too bad he does not get the Batman TA; it would be wothh a few extra points.

Posted by: Hodak on 4/9/2012 11:21:04 AM
"What i dont agree with is Alfreds attack values, other than that im fine with him.

Posted by: Doc Silly on 4/9/2012 10:23:10 AM"

The high opening AV reflects Alfred's skill as a battlefield medic. The 9-AV w/ CCE shows that he still retains his pugilistic skills!! ;)

I think Defend is a little wonky, but otherwise really like the dial!! 55-pts is a nice price for what you get !!

Posted by: Hodak on 4/9/2012 11:18:17 AM
What i dont agree with is Alfreds attack values, other than that im fine with him.

Posted by: Doc Silly on 4/9/2012 10:23:10 AM
"The first 3 clicks and the Underworld Team Ability provides Rapid movement of an Underworld/Wildcard Team. I feel it is worth putting him on a Wildcard based team with a High point wildcard flyer (AKA Dr Strange) who could carry 2 Meat Shields( X-men or Titian with Stealth) and still ignore them while making a ranged attack. and be pushed then X-men transferred to rmain on his 18 defend.

Posted by: sir christopher on 4/3/2012 12:36:38 PM"

I don't think the Underworld TA works like that. The carried figures must be able to use the Underworld TA (so they'd either have the TA or are wildcards) in order for Dr. Strange to be able to carry them in addition to the lower point cost limitation.

Nice idea though.

Posted by: phep on 4/3/2012 10:09:38 PM
Henri Ducard is a beast. Four top-loaded clicks of outwit (not 6, sir christopher) is always a boon to any team, and probably makes him worth 85 points off the bat. However, he also has some offensive prowess past his first click; b/c/f is always a welcome power, as well as a fantastic 3 damage with exploit weakness on his last two clicks. Wild Card teams will have an absolute field day with both of his TA's, perma-stealth and the ability to carry each other make for a mobile, and versatile team. Ducard's best quality, though, is his durability. That defensive power is great, but becomes insane when he has two clicks of it in a row. This means that if he is on click 4 or higher, he must be hit three consecutive times to kill him. That's nuts! Keep in mind that he will have a shape change role, likely someone next to him for mastermind since he carries lesser point values, and perma-stealth which eliminates a lot of attack possibilities for the other team. And if their team can't muster up a minimum 3 successful attacks, he can regen up next turn! For his great utility, silly durability, and decent offensive potential he should be ~115, no doubt.

This set just jumped up on my priority list for sure.

Posted by: New Power on 4/3/2012 4:30:33 PM
"...today we get to see one of the villains. He seems a tad overpriced for 85 points, but he does sport 2 Team Abilities, which is great for Wildcard fodder. And don't forget that Indomitable!"

I don't necessary agree with this statement. 85 points for 6 clixs of Outwit. Seems rather excessive on the Outwit. The first 3 clicks and the Underworld Team Ability provides Rapid movement of an Underworld/Wildcard Team.

Appears wizkids worded the "Surely You Don't Begrudge Me Dual Identies?" Correctly to gave him that he can use outwit and Shape Cahnbge at the same time. Though it appears the Ducard is euther scottish or Irish. at these it sounds better if you read the power aloud with a accent. (Me Dual instead of MY DUAl ...)

Posted by: sir christopher on 4/3/2012 12:36:38 PM
They're giving out Indomitable like it was candy on Halloween for this set!!!

Love the second click on Henri Ducard. When he moves he can carry up to two low cost Underworld figures for MM fodder while ignoring terrain & figures, still use Outwit & Shape Change to boot while basing figures to attack next turn with B/C/F without taking push damage, and prevent LOF range attacks/effects thanks to his Batman TA. If he had range attack I'd say he'd probably be broken!

Posted by: phep on 4/2/2012 10:34:21 PM
Am I the only one that punched the air when they saw the underworld ta? I'm just so glad they didn't dump it after watchmen.

Posted by: mmiller42 on 4/2/2012 10:33:42 AM
Im not sure but I thought the flight ability just let you fly and the flight symbol is the one that gives you the flight ability and the carry ability

Posted by: deathstroke77 on 3/28/2012 2:33:03 PM
I love the Batman's foot symbol and flight ability combo. The Dark Knight's no-LOF outwit sounds like it's going to be VERY convenient. Both of them having indomitable is just icing on the cake. I originally didn't think I was gonna invest much in this set, but they seem to be stronger than I anticipated. I can't wait for this, the Avengers set, and War of Light FF.

Posted by: NeoDaxamite64 on 3/27/2012 5:36:59 PM
That Bruce Wayne AE is probably the best designed (or overpowered depending on how you look at it) AE dial so far.

Loving the 2 different versions of Batman. While the Batman seems to be more flexible the Dark Knight the Dark Knight seems to be a lot more dangerous with NO-LOF outwit.

If I was playing The Dark Knight in Golden Age I'd would most certainly put Swingline & Shellhead at minmum to get maximum playability then Elite Sniper, Ambidextrous, & Armor Piercing if there enough points left over! Of course he'd then be a 185 pts. figure with 6 clicks of life. Smart? Probably not. Fun to play with... Hell yes!!! :-)

Posted by: phep on 3/26/2012 10:15:59 PM
"While I'm fine with The Batman having Flight, I think it should state that he cannot use Carry. Think about it, in order to glide, he has to have his arms out to the side to make the glider wings, how is he going to hold someone while doing this?

Posted by: lordoracle on 3/26/2012 8:50:28 PM"

Actually lordoracle Batman can't carry he can only use the flight ability similar to how Secret Invasion Namor's flight ability works. The reason being is that he doesn't have the flight symbol on his dial that grants both abilities (if you notice it's a foot symbol instead). The Flight trait alone doesn't give Batman the carry ability too.

Posted by: phep on 3/26/2012 10:01:41 PM
While I'm fine with The Batman having Flight, I think it should state that he cannot use Carry. Think about it, in order to glide, he has to have his arms out to the side to make the glider wings, how is he going to hold someone while doing this?

Overall, I like the sculpts on these. They do seem a little more powerful than I'd expect for someone with no actual powers aside from a massive bank account.

Is it just me or do they overpower the pieces from the Avengers Movie set.

Posted by: lordoracle on 3/26/2012 8:50:28 PM
@ Japete61
I totally agree, and while i may consider getting this set i will pass on the movie since they were dissapointments to me (Bale cant pull off the Bat) and Joker i will most likely repaint if it looks like the movie version since i want Joker and not Insane Clown Possie

Posted by: Gray Ghost on 3/26/2012 8:32:05 PM
Nah, I like the Invulnerability. It suits him just fine. Batman rules, everyone else drools... :)

Posted by: Owlman166 on 3/26/2012 5:46:23 PM
Wow! I wasn't expecting the Batman movie figs to b this strong! I mean these dials are stronger than those of the current comic Batman figs. In the movies I thought Bats was portrayed much more realistically than in the comics. I would expect the movie figs to be weaker....

Posted by: Spider-Man 071 on 3/26/2012 5:45:00 PM
Let me be the first to call shenanigans on Batman having invulnerability. Toughness due to his suit maybe, but invulnerability no way. Ironman has a robot total body covering and gets invulnerability, Batman has what amounts to a bullet proof vest with a trauma plate which should be toughness.

Posted by: Japete61 on 3/26/2012 4:20:05 PM
First let me say i will be getin all this & second isn't the team ability just the same as the other Batman ally just a diffrent symboy?

Posted by: Zack on 3/26/2012 3:06:50 PM
Love all these figs but so many sets. I'm just a rough beginner. By the time I get most of these they will be retired. So I hope you guys have old leagues to play? How the heck do you guys keep up with all these and aren't these saturating the market so to speak?

Posted by: jim commons on 3/26/2012 2:53:03 PM
@James: Fixed, thanks.

I don't know why on this site you never post the whole card. I like to see the flavor text and the names for all the powers. Wondering about the defense special power for the Dark knight as well.

Posted by: Sundown on 3/26/2012 12:43:46 PM
The dark knight has a special power for his defense.. What is the power!??! It's not shown!
The figs are great though! I'll be burning most of my money on this set! Huge fan of batman!

I think the marquee figures are giants, not colossal, and the BIBTB incentive was lost when they started placing them in the boosters anyway. They were just giving a sixth figure away for free, so now they'll charge us for a "marquee" figure, and make some more cash...lol

Posted by: Will1161 on 1/24/2012 6:07:27 AM
The Marquee figure is "oversize figures that take the place of the former incentive figures for WizKids “Buy it by the Brick” promotions."...

Did they get that confused with Colossals figures? I don't think Wizkids ever had a Colossal figure as a BBTB figure.

Well at least DC is getting a little love by Wizkids over the summer.
