Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends has a special place in my heart -- it was the first real superhero show I ever watched. I don't know about all of you, but cartoons came years before comic books in my house.

In one particular episode, "Seven Little Superheroes", Spider-Man teams up with Iceman, Firestar, Captain America, Dr. Strange, Shanna the She-Devil, and Namor (who manages to be a jerk in the cartoon too). This was superhero gravy in my book, as this was the first time I had ever been introduced to these iconic characters... except maybe Shanna... to this day I still have no idea who the heck she is.

Unfortunately the other superheroes weren't given big roles (even though they did get a lot of face time), but just seeing all those superheroes together was a real treat. And to top it all off, the main adversary was the Chameleon!

My favorite part of the episode was Spider-Man's elegant solution to freeing the superheroes -- all he needed was a webshooter and a giant lamp! All three parts are available below from Youtube. What did you think of "Seven Little Superheroes?"
