Black Manta Origin

HeroClix Black MantaEver wonder where Black Manta came from? Personally I always thought he was invented for the Superfriends tv series, but I was wrong. In fact, Black Manta's origin dates back to Aquaman #35 in 1967!

Watchmojo's put together a fantastic 5-Minute detailing the origin -- it's a great video for any Aquaman/DC fan!

He's still mixing it up. That origin may not even be canon. In the New 52 Aquaman killed Black Manta's Father and Manta wants revenge. Manta was a murderer and a thief just like his dad. The relaunch since adding the wildstorm universe is why hes still a supervilian.
