We've covered the X-Men in cartoon form before, most noteably in our Pryde of the X-Men and A Firestar is Born articles. However, there was one other noteable appearance of the X-Men in cartoon form, and again it was in an episode of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends.
The episode was called The X-Men Adventure, and sadly it was one of the weaker crossover cartoon episodes at the time.. most noteably for the really lame villain known as Cyberiad. In short, he really sucked, and it amazes me that he could have taken over the X-Mansion the way he did.
It was still a fun episode though, and it introduced the world to the new X-Men, not seen in A Firestar is Born. We had the return of my favorite X-Man, Cyclops, and the bald wheelchair guy again. New to the cartoon was Storm, Colossus, Kitty Pryde, Nightcrawler, and Thunderbird. Yes, Warpath, the American Indian that died in his second mission with the X-Men. And yes, he's just as useless in the cartoon too.
There are some very good points about this episode though -- most noteably the inclusion of the Danger Room and the MAZE OF MADNESS! It also helps that they made sure every character showed off their mutant powers. And I'm always thrilled when they manage to use Cyclops correctly.
Well, enough chit-chat. Let's take a look at all 3 parts of The X-Men Adventure!
