The Le: I read alot of comics when I was younger. I especially loved Guardians of the Galaxy in the 90s, The Fall of The Mutants storyline, the more recent reprints of Lone Wolf and Cub, and the Louise / Walt Simonson run on X-Factor. Do you have any favorites?
Seth: Sure! Some of my favorites:
* "The Judas Contract" blew me away when it was coming out monthly in New Teen Titans, and I still love rereading it years later. Long-running storylines were wrapped up by Marv Wolfman in unexpected and awesome ways, new characters were introduced, old characters changed, betrayal, death, George Perez at the his best....I love it.
* "Kraven's Last Hunt". It's all too rare that you feel a superhero is seriously in trouble, but man did this story deliver in spades. Textbook-perfect storytelling by David Michelline and great art by Mike Zeck.
(Editor's Note: Kraven's Last Hunt was actually by J.M. DeMatteis and Mike Zeck, as shown on the right image)
* "The Golden Age". One of the best Elseworlds ever, dueling it out with Kingdom Come in my heart. James Robinson and Paul Smith laying groundwork for Starman, one of my favorite series of all time.
* "The Cross-Time Caper". I admit it, there was a time in my youth where I nearly gave up on the X-Men. The storylines got too tangled and there were too many books coming out for my limited comics budget. But I wanted to keep buying one X-book, and I chose Excalibur since it was just launching at the time. Man oh man am I glad I did so that I was on board for the Cross-Time Caper. Good rollicking cross-dimensional fun, and I love the Alan Davis art.
* "The Losers". Best action thriller in comic book form ever. I own two copies of all the trades, one to hoarde and one to keep pressing on people who haven't read it yet.
* "Global Frequency" I just reread the whole series last week, and now once again feel the pain that comes with knowing there are only twelve issues and no TV series.
So many more I want to mention--The Man Without Fear, No Man's Land, A Finer World, Days of Future Past, the Kree-Skrull War, the Trial of Galactus, Armor Wars...
