#1 Web of Spider-man
This Spider-man grabs the #1 spot for a couple of reasons; his combat values and of course his Trait: Spidey Sense. He may not exactly be the definitive Spider-man from the comics, but man he is darn close. He’s the first version of Spider-man to receive a starting defense of 18, and it’s about time. His attack values are Amazing, he starts with an 11 attack, and never has less than a 9. He has a 3 damage value on all but his last clix, with super strength sprinkled in for even more damage dealing potential. Now we’ll get to that trait in a minute, but let’s not ignore his Web-Shooters special power.
Continued Below...
Web-Shooters may not be the most dazzling special power, but it has its uses. I've seen opposing characters get stuck in Spidey’s web and failed to break away for multiple rounds. Now for the best part, his Spidey Sense trait allows him to evade an attack on a result of 4-6. Now you may disagree with giving him the number one spot, but I have seen this version go entire games without taking a single hit, and believe me, it was not for lack of trying. (remember, Traits are immune to outwit!). Pulse Wave and Bullseye are about the only ways to get around this trait, so be careful if you are dealing with an opponent who has either in play. Sure, some move and attack powers would have made him all the better, but for 78 points this Spider-man fits easily onto most teams and can bring a lot of frustration to the opposition.
So that’s it for this top 5 list. Honorable mentions go out to: Hammer of Thor Spidey and Vet Sinister Spidey -- two other great versions that I had a tough time not including on this list. Until next time, enjoy your games!
