HeroClix World Evolution HeroClix World has been around for over 4 years, so I thought it would be a good time to revamp some things. Don't worry, all your favorite articles and coverage will be the same, but I'm hoping your experience here will be better as we continue to evolve.

Let's take a look at some of the things we're doing...

TOP LEVEL NAVIGATION
You notice a brand new navigation at the top. The colored boxes are the main links for the different areas that we cover, and it's very iPad and Android tablet friendly. This functions exactly the same as previously, but is far more evolved.

ARTICLE CATEGORIES (FILTERS)
Right below the main navigation you'll now be able to filter through very specific categories from our Articles Section. In order of appearance they different categories are:
•All Articles: This is is exactly like the main Articles box at the top. This will remove all filtering.
•Strategy: HeroClix strategy articles like Clix Beat, Eric Schaen's Slade Files, and more.
•Original: Our original articles that include Critical Clix, Of Dice and Plastic Men, DreamClix, and other subjects that doesn't quite fit anywhere else.
•Spoilers: Best place to see upcoming dials or find out about old/new sets.
•Top 10: Our Top 10 (and Top 5) articles are top notch; no other HeroClix website has what we have here.
•Interviews: View all the awesome interviews we've done in the past, including Ben Bisenar, Seth Johnson, nbperp, and comic book legend John Byrne!
•TV / Movie Reviews: Check out our coverage of TV and movies, like The Dark Knight Rises and Iron Man 3!

PAGE NUMBERS
For our extensive coverage (spoilers, reviews, etc) that expand to more than 1 page, you'll notice that we've enlarged the page numbers. Again this is for easier navigation for tablets and makes it stand out a little more. (we'll be tweaking the "NEXT PAGE" button too!)

SUPER SEARCH
HeroClix World regulars know that we added a "Super Search" on the front of the page earlier this year, using google's search algorith. We'll be making tweaks to this in the near future.

THE FUTURE
There's still lots to do at HeroClix World, as I'm always tweaking the web code to add new features. I'm very happy with all the support from the HeroClix community these last 4 years and I look forward to many more years.

I hope you like all the changes I've made (and the ones that are coming). Let me know below what you think, or if you have any additional suggestions!

Hooray! Once more my most-used avatar is not a least-used avatar so I will be able to mostly use it for at least one more rotation of avatars!!!

My worry is now that I waste so much of my life posting here that I've made it most used!

@Lord Logan: Yes, it will still be there. When I deactivate an avatar, it disappears from the "post a comment" selection only. If you use an avatar today and I deactivate it next week, your chosen avatar will still appear that posted comments. All historical comments/avatars are retained.

Will the removed avatars that were used prior to the change still show up for those articles? For example if I used an avatar of a computer screen yesterday, then the change occurred today, will it still be there for my comment tomorrow?

Love the "called out comments" by the way. always makes me think more about what I write in the hope of seeing my post there on the homepage. Is it sad I'm proud when I am "called out"? Now of course you'll call out this comment for irony. Or won't now I've mentioned it. Or will in a reverse psychology masterplay by Mantis Warrior!

Kragnorak: Good point. What I should have done is looked at the least used Avatars in the last 3 months. I made an adjustment for you -- The Leader has been returned to the Avatar list.

@The Flayed Main: There is no forum here at HeroClix World -- the site is intentionally designed that way. If we did run a forum, I'm sure we'd be the best forum ever, but right now we don't have plans to do that -- I am not a fan of asking people to create yet another login and begging them for money to pay for the server. I like keeping things free for everyone.

Another welcome improvement, the Avatars. Good selection of popular characters. Especially like that you went beyond Marvel and DC for some of the choices.

@Greth: Thank you for the kind words! I coded 99% of HeroClix World from scratch, and "user-friendly" has always been the ultimate goal. There's still lots more to do... evolution stops for no one!

The information presented here is so much easier to find and digest than the actual WIZKIDS site, I rarely visit there. They could really learn a lot from you. Thanks for all your work that goes in to this. It is easy to see that this is something you really care about getting right. My son and I continue to enjoy. Thanks again.

@ken: Yes. The custom cards uses a different menu system than the rest of the site (even before the redesign), so I am a little unsure on how to redo that... just yet. I'll figure something out.

That being said, custom cards are low priority. I have other things I want to try out first, like maybe a more interesting comment-system (but I fully intend to stick with the "no registration/login" for posting comments).

Le - you are doing a great job. I visit the Realms regularly for discussions, but the way the previews and articles are presented here is easy to see and access. I love the layout.
