The Le: Do you have any advice for people out there who want to start modding?
Goldeeh: Don’t be afraid to experiment with techniques and materials. Try different kinds of paint, brushes, sculpting materials, and tools until you find ones you are comfortable with. Just because so and so uses these tools, it doesn’t mean you have to.
When somebody criticizes your work, LISTEN. No criticism is bad criticism (unless every other word is an expletive and it involves your mother and your dog, I guess).
Practice, practice, practice. If you guys visit my webpage, you will see the first customs I ever made on there (compare the first Green Lantern Kyle Rayner I made to my latest one). If you keep at it, I guarantee your skills, techniques, and style will slowly evolve (like mine did). Compare it to learning an instrument, like a guitar for example. You need to learn the basics first, then practice and learn various techniques. Soon enough, you will realize that your guitar-playing skills have improved (unless you’re tone-deaf like me, haha).
Remember that not all of us are Algrims, Phoenix Forces (Myke Dela Paz), Vestiges, or Brian Dugas(es). A lot of us aren’t born as talented as those guys, but it doesn’t hurt to aspire to be like them. Never get discouraged. If you’re planning to start modding, just go for it!!!
You can see many more custom images at Goldeeh's website. That's also the best place to contact him for commissions. Please consider leaving comments below.
