#4 AN OLDER CAST
By going with young and hip actors, Superman Returns created a cast aimed more for the Gossip Girl and American Idol crowd than the older comic book crowd. While we don't mind casting newer actors in this role, we have to question the logic of having Kate Bosworth play Lois Lane, and especially Brandon Routh as Clark Kent himself (and we like both of them in other movies we've seen).

Big roles require big actors, and nowhere is this more evident than the actors who have played Perry White in Superman Returns and the older Superman series; they were all excellent choices.

While Routh and Bosworth are fine actors on their own, they just didn't have the charisma to pull off Lois & Clark. Even Terri Hatcher and Dean Cain handled the roles better, and that was on ABC television! And as much as we didn't like Margot Kidder, we admit that she did have the charisma and acting chops to do the job right.

Please, give us a good cast and stop trying to appease the tweens.
