“Other” HC licenses.

We talked a bit about other licenses that are making their way into HeroClix. There was a conscious decision to keep them out of Modern Age. He didn’t think it would reflect well to see (for example) Legolas and M. Bison winning Worlds.

HeroClix is, at it’s core, a game about super heroes and he would like to keep it that way. I agree with him on this. There was also a deliberate effort to make sure that they didn’t overpower the “mainstream” HC (ie. Marvel and DC). They’ll play well together but will generally be underpowered compared to Marvel or DC figures at the same point costs.

I asked him about the Iron Maiden clix (really, the only “other” license I’ve seen so far that I have any interest in at all). Justin stated that it wasn’t a matter of “if” but “when”. Apparently the licensee is just asking a ton of questions about the game, powers, etc so that they have a better understanding of what they’re brand is being applied to. It’s simply a matter of getting through all that before they are made.

We discussed a bit about gravity feeds and Fast Forces type packs. And although he didn’t give me any indication of anything currently in the works, he said that these vehicles would be a good way to possibly get some “Indy” type licenses into HC. Sounds good Justin… make it so!
