HeroClix Community member Sean McIntyre chose this fascinating cover featuring Spider-Man and all his villains in the background. The cover for this 1971 classic was done by none other than John Romita Sr! How long was it? Well, let's just say it was when Stan Lee was still writing comic books!
From the Marvel Wikia:
"Spider-Man stops a bank robbery. He realizes that he doesn't get the same "charge" out of it as before; that he wants his life to revolve around Gwen Stacy; that he'd be better off without Spider-Man. Back home, he drinks an experimental potion that will take away his powers. Parker collapses on his bed. He dreams of the significant people in his life and then finds himself on a rooftop. A voice calls for help, and he tries to find it. In quick succession the Vulture, the Scorpion, the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and the Kingpin attack him, physically and verbally. Pain in his sides grows as he follows the voice: he finally finds George Stacy's disembodied head, which tells him, "You are Spider-Man! It is your blessing--and your curse--forever."
Parker wakes up and finds that the potion has changed him, but not in the way he expected. He has become more, not less, like a spider--he has grown four extra arms!"
