More tips for taking him down:
•Don’t miss the target! You will be dealing with an opening defense that could vary anywhere from a 19 to 22. Not an easy shot, but not an impossible one either. Characters with higher attack values are one way to help ensure a hit; Perplex and Probability Control are another. With these powers at your disposal, you can increase your combat values in unexpected ways. There's nothing like turning a critical miss to a solid hit, or increasing a characters range value when your opponent thought they were safe. These powers can also be used in a more defensive manner. Forcing Spidey to re-roll a hit of his own, or making his combat values more bearable. (Perplexing Spidey’s damage value by -1 or -2 makes him a lot less of a threat.)
•Deny him of actions. If he can’t attack you, he can’t hurt you. Incapacitate is another way to deal with Cosmic Spidey. Use Incapacitate to pin him down for of a turn or two. This can buy you time to either clear your team, or press the attack. See how he likes being tangled up in a web for once!
•Bring a Brick. No, I don’t mean a masonry brick to smash your opponent’s face with. I’m talking about a Heroclix brick. You know a character that possesses Super Strength, Charge, and reduces damage when they take a hit. Since Cosmic Spidey doesn't possess any kind of penetrating damage, bricks have some staying power. If you get Spidey off those HSS clicks, your brick may be able base him and get in some heavy hits of his/her own.
•Don’t be afraid to Theme it! A well designed theme team is also a good option. Theme teams get a bonus to map choice rolls, and additional options for probability control. Winning the map choice can be HUGE! Be sure to pick a map that has a lot of wide open area. Blocking terrain and walls are not your friends when taking on this Spidey. (See his UNI-VISION trait) Stay clear of maps like the Air Base and the Prison!
